Ok, I wouldn't have said it, but I would have thought it REAL HARD!

I wouldn't actually say these things either but I wish there was a way for the lady to be reading them here and know they were meant for her! How rude for her to say something like that about your baby. NO matter what she thinks, it is NONE of her business to say something!

I've read on here of people telling owners their yorkies were too little, too big, too skinny, too fat, bottom line is -- it is not really anyone's business except the owner and the vet! I think it is usually a person who wants to look like a know-it-all and is trying to make themselves feel better by putting someone else down. I have never understood that at all! If you want to really feel good -- help make another person feel good! These people who do the opposite just do not realize it! Or maybe they have such a low opinion of themselves, they feel like they need to drag everyone else down in the dumps too. Whatever reason they might have -- they are WRONG! Please do not let them have any power over you. They do not deserve the right to make your day gloomy! You have a wonderful pet who loves you as much as you love her! So, life is good! Snooty people can't ruin that!

I was so shocked I just stood there so was my grandma we just looked at each other and the lady walk away. Callie is not fat she might be a tiny bit Chubby but is not fat! I used to read how some of the things you could say back to people when there rude but one my anxiety really sorta keeps me from doing that and I was just to shocked to even think. Why do people say things so rude like that? It really bothers me because I was picked on in school for being fat and I cannot believe some one called my baby that it makes me so upset. I thought after we got into the car my grandma was gonna go back inside and give her a piece of her mind after she had a minute to think.

I've come to realise that people are really the same the world over. I don't know if people are getting nastier, or more blunt, or have nothing better to do - but it's a horrible trend that seems to be developing and I'm so sorry that you had to go through this

I would far rather people be rude to me, than to one of my dogs. And I always can think of some wonderful responses - when I get home aaargh!

Keep your chin up, keep smiling - and just know that your Callie is one of the most beautiful Yorkies that I have ever seen. Sally + Harry x

Yep, makes no difference where you are! I have noticed though it seems to be younger people though so I think no matter where we are young people more and more are just not taught the same respect they used to be.

Whenever I get into a conversation with people about their dogs, or even their children for that matter I always tell them they are gorgeous or beautiful no matter if they are or not!

Don't worry about those rude people. Kirby is a bichon and even after I tell them she is a bichon, they still call her a poodle. They insist on saying poodle. She has been called fat too. Too bad our pets can't tell those people what they actually think of them.

I had a pet store owner tell me that I had to ditch the bow (which was red and had skulls and cross bones) on it cause it made Harley look like a girl... like WTH! I'm a paying customer who happened to just leave my groomers (at another store) to come shop at your place and this is how you treat me!

I was pretty cranky that day, I really hate the owner of that store, he knows nothing about customer service.

If it makes you feel better I get the, "he's a rat" comment all the time. I feel like replying, "watch out this rat bites!"

OMG, this is so right!!!! I'm not sure if they're just not taught manners or if people have become so informal and relaxed in dealing with others that they just have no filter. Either way, it's awful!

I really don't understand the nerve of people! I'm a very "keep to myself" kind of person and I have perfected my "keep your distance stare" and "leave me alone look". I mind my own business and expect others to do the same. When I do speak to strangers/others where ever it may be - I try to make it kind and uplifting statements/words. Like - "I love your shoes", "what a precious baby", etc. Why do people find it necessary to say mean and hurtful things?

Your precious baby is NOT fat - she's adorable. People who speak without thinking are just classless and ignorant! I'm sorry she hurt your feelings - but who is she anyway, right? No one.

Home training and simple etiquette seems to have gone out the window these days. Even if someone or something looked rediculous, it's still not someone's place to say something so rude. I have no idea why people don't think before they speak.

Anyhow..you just love your baby and that is all that matters.

The lady may not have meant harm.. I call my Bailey "fat".. and even laugh at my little Remy and say she is a chubett ..

I agree, she did have a poor delivery.. and I am sure if you walked away she knew she was wrong. If she meant it as rude she was too stupid to know she was wrong.

I have had my Remy called names like.. gerbil etc. I really just laugh, the time I got upset was in Chicago when some guy called her

I felt so very bad one time when I asked someone what type of dog they had.. it turned out to be a large yorkie. I said "oh.. of course, I just didn't see his face.. what a handsome guy" and played with the dog. I hope I didn't hurt the owner's feelings. But the different sizes do look different to me.. not say bad, just different. I don't ask anymore, just say what a cute dog or something.
