| Ferg's scared me this morning We have an extremely high bed. My golden and my smaller rat terrier can get in it with no problem but Ferg's is just to short to jump that high. I don't encourage them to be in the bed freely but do let them in it while we're watching TV at night before bed. I will put Ferg's in the bed and then put her on the floor. Well, the other day she jumped OUT of the bed and I almost had a heart attack. Told her NO and that she can't jump out when she wants to. Well, this morning Tudie (terrier) jumped in the bed while I was dressing and Ferg's decided to go for broke and gave it everything she had. She didn't make it, hit the wood footboard and then fell back to the ground and hit the dog crate at the foot of the bed. She's ok, and shook it off like a champ but boy, was I worried about her. |

| You need doggie stairs. I have them at two of the beds in the house.

♥Trained by my pups♥ Donating YT 500 Club Member | Yes get some stairs. They will be best for all the dogs. Took mine awhile to use them but they all fly up and down them now. Great investment

| I agree get some stairs. I know they "sometimes" have them at CVS for like 10$. I have stairs on my bed for Pnut, he doesn't use them he will just jump up and down for me to pick him up.. As well as when he wants down. I'm always right there when he is on my bed. All it takes is one time for them to jump wrong and break something.

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | I think we'll need doggie stairs in our home too. Our bed is really high as well. I know I would be so scared to think of what could happen. Glad your baby is ok though! I saw pet stairs at PetSmart, but they were like $70. I need to keep an eye on CVS.

| Oh, go for the stairs for sure. There are just too many ways for these little ones to hurt themselves. Pet steps were one of the first purchases I made after I got Gracie. I had to teach her to use them as we don't have steps any where else but she got the hang of it. |

| If you want something other than stairs, I have decorative body pillows that line both sides of my bed, so Harley can jump up and down, and if you accidentally trip over then you wont hurt yourself.

| I have a make shift bed ramp for Ahi that she just fly's up and down on. She has more than once tried to jump on the couch and flopped back down on her back.

| I feel your pain. Choppa tried to jump from the ottoman to the bed, landed half on half off then slid to floor. Not hurt thank goodness. Then Sunday DH was playing with him, ran in the room and jumped on the bed thinking he had ditched Choppa. But Noooo Choppa can fly. Ha. I feel a thud and its my little dude. He landed on the bed and rolled for belly rubs all in one swoop. Lol. I'm still searching for stairs but the ottoman works for him when in place.

| I put an ottoman at the foot of the bed. Gracie has no problem getting on the ottoman, then hopping on the bed. My sister has a carpet covered ramp her hubby made. My other sister found her dog steps at a yard sale.

| I have a similar set up. I have an upholstered queen anne bench at the foot of my bed. ZoE jumps on that and then onto the bed and reverses the process to get down. I initially had stairs made, but they were so big to accomodate the rise/run of each step in order to reach the height of my bed. They just didn't look good in the room and took up too much space. The bench is the perfect solution for us.
