How horrible, I beg people to visit breeders homes, but so many have excuses, what even worse, is some breeders don't encourage people to visit homes. Those breeders and the puppy buyers who buy from them are condoning the suffering of millions of dogs. “As soon as police officers and animal control officers entered the home (on June 5), they noted the stench and foul odor of animal feces and urine, and the general filth of the home was nearly unbearable,” Carlton said.

“The first floor of the house was soaked with urine, covered with feces and approximately one inch of standing water.”Police found the bodies of two “Mi-Ki breed dogs” as they sorted through the mess: One was left “rotting in a bag in the bedroom,” and the body of the other was found in the backyard. The house was overrun with 37 living dogs in various states of illness, and neighbors told police that Wilkerson-Hood’s children were left to look after the animals and themselves as best they could.


The living dogs were examined by a veterinarian and had ailments ranging from gum disease to skin infections caused by “urine scald.” All had fur heavily matted with feces.
Wilkerson-Hood allegedly later told police she had been spending time at her boyfriend’s home without her children and tried not to stay at Ramsey Drive. Carlton, emphasizing certain words in her written statement, then adds, “Tiffany could only advise a couple of times that her children were NOT in the home in the past 60 days when she was asked.”

Wilkerson-Hood had a state license to operate a breeding kennel and was fined in February for its poor condition. [see notes below about the USDA]

“Tiffany … told animal control officers that she and her mother were award-winning dog breeders and things had just spiraled out of control for her at the home,” Carlton said.

Free on bond, Wilkerson-Hood is due to be arraigned July 12.

This is horrible!! I was wondering what this has to do with BTRA? I didn't even know there was such a breed called Mi-Ki. Poor dogs!! One thing I learned on YT is to definitely check out breeder's home, which I will definitely do when I get my next puppy!!!

This is so horrible! I bought my Biewer from a BTCA member and he is registered with BTRA. Tiffany is the BTRA Manager and her mother Tamara Beebe runs the BTRA registry for BTCA. It seems I should have done more research.

I'm getting a biewer next year and I've been staying away from BTRA, but for other reasons. I've been looking for breeders that have dogs registered with BBIR and finally found one!! I thought Ilona Shanklin runs the BTRA...or was that BTCA? So confusing...this is really sad though how someone who is suppose to LOVE dogs and care about them stoop to below puppy millers and brokers! It just broke my heart seeing a picture of that dog in the blog.

Yes and they have been kicked out of IABCA for this.

This is so horrible I could not watch. I hope they get what they deserve! How can human beings treat loving pups like that. Sick people! Glad I don't have any dogs registered by BTRA! I would feel like I gave them money to mistreat more furbabies!! God has a special place in hell for people like them..

Ilona Shanklin is the BTCA(Biewer Terrier Club of America). The BTRA is run by these two woman who registers the Biewer Terrier. Like AKC registers Yorkies.. I heard though that one of these woman is related to the former president of the BTCA who had to resign after the false championship title scandal was revealed.

I am truly amazed at the loneliness in peoples lives, that they spend so much time trying to destroy others with lies and gossip. This Tiffany has nothing to do with BTRA and Tamara has nothing to do with what happened to Tiffany. Tamara lives in Az. so how does she have anything to do with what happened. What does any of it have to do with BTRA.

Of course no one has bothered to find out what really happened, they just jumped on the sensationalism of some writer, looking to boost their position. Doesn't look like anyone made a point of printing that fact that dogs were ordered to be returned. That Tiffany was at a ball game with her children the day a pipe broke and flooded her home.

Notice the people that have only made 2 posts and 4 posts. This is more than likely Georgia Warren, and Dan and Dee Ashley, because they have been suspended from BTRA from registering their dogs. People don't get suspended for no good reason. You have to feel sorry for people like this.

All you need to do for verification of this particular incident is Google the name of Tiffany Wilkerson Hood.

I cannot honestly say how many news papers and TV channels have carried this sad sad story. However there is a video taken of them removing the dogs from their deplorable conditions. How much more proof would you need just from that?????

If that is not enough you can contact the vaious creditable reporters that turned in the stories and ask them where they got their information.
Reporters that carry their own byline are there because they are respected for integrity and abilty to report the facts.


1. Tiffany Wilkkerson Hood was cited and fined in February of this year for unsanitary conditions of her dogs.
2. They revisited her again on June --- due to follow up or neighbors complaining about conditions.

3. They found 4 children left alone in the house with 37 dogs in various stages of neglect, plus 2 dead and decaying bodies of dogs.
As quoted by Det. Bill Holwick, Macon County Sheriff Dept. "It was the worst conditions he had ever seen"
4. There has been no mention by anyone or any rebuttals to the stories printed stating the children were all at McDonald's having lunch with their mother.

5. They stated all the dogs and children were removed from the home.

6. If you want to take the time-- look up in the records of Incorportation to verify who are listed as Managers of the BTRA (Biewer Terrier Registry of America)
You find that both Tamara Beebe and Tiffany Wilkerson are listed.

7. Further look at your BTRA certified pedigree to ascertain who signed your pedigree. Tamara Beebe

8. Now go to the website ---- where you will find a picture of mother and daughter as a team- for the Mi-Ki's.

9.Let's not try to change the subject by bringing up the names of Georgia Warren and Dee and Dan Ashley. They had nothing to do with this incident concerning Tiffany Wilkerson Hood.

10. As of today NONE, REPEAT, NONE OF THE DOGS WERE RETURNED TO TIFFANY OR ANYONE THAT REPRESENTED THEMSELVES AS A MEMBER OF TIFFANY’S FAMILY. 32 dogs have been already adopted with 4 still needing homes according to Amanda Fisher of the Macon County Animal Control.
The judge ruled that Tiffany could not get any of the dogs back. Your may verify these facts by contacting the Amanda Fisher the Macon County Control

Thankfully 30 dogs were all adopted last week I believe. Our local news station did a news story on one of the families that adopted a dog.

Good to see all the dogs get good homes after the horrible conditions they had been living in.

These definitely weren't Biewer's. Not sure if she is still associated with her mother in that respect. These were Shih Tzu's and Mi-Ki's.
