I've haven't been able to find a whole lot of independent information about the BRTA. I've tried searching for articles of incorporation, but i've been unsuccessful so far (of course, I haven't spent a whole lot of time on it either.) it just seems extremely odd to have any kind of business without a physical address attached to it, only email for communication.

The BRTA website is registered to a California address, but there is no record of either a corporation or LLC with that name on the secretary of state's website.

I think Tamera may run it as she's the contact person as well, but I don't see her daughter's name anywhere.

I didn't see her daughter's name either; I think it's just the implied idea that if you haven't taught your children to respect animals, you probably don't respect them either. I agree with you though and if it wasn't for this conflict between the different biewer clubs and parti clubs half of the people wouldn't have answered the thread. This is about animal and child abuse.

THAT'S what I was looking for. The earlier links kept bringing up some apartment complex rather than the BTRA. Still is strange that the BTRA website is registered to a California address. Makes things very difficult to track down.

And yes, I absolutely agree that this should be all about the poor dogs. The registry argument (which has now been proven false) was a smoke screen, IMO. Lots of hit and run posters.

Sorry, should have clarified...I meant the claim that there was no connection between BRTA, Mi Ki et al... was proven false. They are all trade names of the same legal entity, APBD, governed by 4 women, one of whom has been charged with animal cruelty.

What do most Puppymills in the USA register with?
I checked it was the AKC. If this is all about the suffering dogs than why do you all still register with AKC ?

You really can't blame the AKC for puppymills. The AKC is about registering and keeping records of PUREBREDS, and they are very strict if your record keeping is bad, but they can't be any stricter than the individual states are in requiring decent kennels. As more states have passed laws requiring more humane kennels, the AKC can see that the kennels pass the individual State’s standards. Many commercial breeders have left, and that’s why you find the proliferation of bogus registries, many of the registries were started by the commercial breeders themselves. So we need to change state laws.

If I were involved in the clubs that used these woman’s’ registry, I think I would want to vote to have them taken off the board, or find another registry, but I don’t think this says that the people who are using the registry are bad, only that what Tiffany allegedly did was bad.

I know some on this thread have expressed concern for the dogs (and children) if the allegations are true. I don't understand why there is not more concern about a rotting dog in someone's bedroom. Like said by others, wouldn't you want someone like that off your board? I would. If I didn't realize that was going on in someone's home, when I did find out, I would want to maintain the credibility of the registry I belonged to.

I would feel the same way regardless of which registry this pertained to.

Yes I agree! I just feel like there's an underlying issue going on, and I'm not sure what it is?
