| Petfinder.com I'm terrible. I've been browsing petfinder.com and inquiring about a few yorkie/ yorkie mixes. This all started because I watched Gizmo play with another dog the other day and it was the best thing in the world to watch. I know, I'm nuts. But I think he'd do good with a brother or sister. Any opinions from multiple furbaby owners? My husband may kill me

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | LOL. No advice here other than to watch out. I was just "browsing" one afternoon when I ran across Scarlett's (then called Penny) picture. Next thing I knew, we were driving up to Tennessee to bring her home.

| I think it is great especially a rescue. I started with 1 Yorkie and now I have 4. Of course I got all of them before I knew a lot about rescue. Good Luck. My babies on the most part love each other and get along good. I have 2 spayed females and 2 neutered males.

| I always look at the different Rescue Groups. I guess that explains why I have adopted a total of 7 of them at one time or another. I only have 3 now and of those 2 are adopted. The latest which was in March. I say go for it if you really think you want another.

| I just worry about getting my heart set on one and something falling through with adoption. There's about 3, now going on 4, that'd I e-mail inquired about. I'm going over my finances in my head, our pet insurance we'd get discounted, food would be a little bit more but Gizzy barely goes through any food. Hmm...

| I say go for it too! I have 2 and find myself looking around at the rescues on line for another one. |

| If you are financially able and have the time, then there isn't much of a reason not to. But you have only had Gizmo for a few months, so are you sure you're ready? Double the vet care, double the behavioral problems (if any), etc. I got another dog after 10 years. Love him to pieces. Having two exhausts me. I could just make Ellie snuggle me. With Rylee, he has to have playful attention often. I find it hard to walk two, esp. bc they bark and try to go after people and dogs. Wasn't even looking for another dog. Pretty much knew I would not get another for several years. Wrong I was. He just showed up online and what I had wanted. He was the only one we would have considered and it just worked out. Can't afford it, but oh well. Got him from Serenity, btw. We were very happy with their adoption dept. I think the work that rescues do is amazing; however, I'm not one that can sit on a list for weeks, have home checks, long phone convos about how the dog will be raised, etc. That can all be very necessary, but it's not something that I personally wanted to deal with right now. Anyway, the process there was very good, but very short. Very little opportunity for prospective owners to et sad over not getting a dog bc everything moves quickly. They pull their rescues from kill shelters, so you are saving a life it getting a dog there. They can sometimes get a dog of a certain breed for you upon request. If you would like to know anything else, just PM. I'd say go for it if you think you are ready. But Gizmo is still young and there is lots of time for things to come up making a second less appealing. Try not to rush into it (coming from somebody that saw the ad for Rylee online and had him less than 3 days later - all while not thinking another dog was going to fit right now. lol).

I know financially we can do it. And I know Gizmo would love having a playmate as well. I guess I'm just worried that like Gizmo will love the playmate then get depressed because he has to share me. I know that sounds terrible. I got a response from one of the dogs I looked at. He'll be at a Petsmart this Saturday and the lady told me to bring Gizmo and meet him. We'll do it, but I'm really going to think about it.

| Anytime you can give some homeless dog a home it's a good thing. Just try to make a good personality match for you and Gizmo. I'm still thinking about finding a friend for Gracie. I'll be interested to see how you do. |

| I have two yorkies they are both rescues and are the best buddies. They entertain each other, sleep, eat and potty together. When Sassy was a year old, I adopted Patti. They are 6 months apart. I am very glad that I got Patti. It gives Sassy some company and someone to play with. When I got Patti back to Vegas from Texas I took her immedately into the kitchen and shampooed her with the shampoo that I used on Sassy. My sister two and Sass all excepted her quite well. I think that they think because they smell alike that they belong to the group. I wish you the best of luck in finding the one you want. I know that you will enjoy two Yorkies. Best wishes, Linda, Sassy and Patti |
