| My packs names Raina - Spanish for queen (my daughter-in-law though people would understand this spelling rather than reina) Gus - is short for Asparagus Beanie Baby - I was really thinking of the old cartoon Beany and Cecil, but more people would understand Beanie Baby Wally - he just looked like a Wally to me |

| Sophie Kate came with the name Sophie, I added the Kate part after my friend Katie. The first night I brought her home Katie came over and Sophie Kate planted herself on Katies lap and stayed there for hours.

| Ziva , the character on NCIS, my son was doing a TV marathon the summer we got her.. The breeder had been calling her Grace,so her name is Ziva Grace. We have a printed list of all the NCIS characters and argue what our next pup will be named! (DS says Tony, I say McGee ) |

| Here is how it goes at our house when we name or rename a dog. I look in the Websters and start listing all the names I think suit that particular dog or breed. Then my dh and I take turns vetoing a name until there is one left. That is how it works. That way we are both happy with the name and we don't argue about what to call her or him. I don't know why it matters here because he is going to come up with screwy versions of their names anyway. Gracie came to us as Gracie and she was too old to change it but she answers to May May. Adie is usually called Kay Kay (Adie Cakes to Cakes to Kay Kay) Skeeter is Skeety or Peaty. DH likes to call him fat bastard. sigh Cassie for some reason has always been Cassie, Cass, or Cassie Bug Touhy, the cat, used to be Susie 2 (named after my childhood cat) but it got changed to Two Two then Touhy. We are so weird. Last edited by Lou; 07-14-2011 at 07:24 PM. |

| Abby and Max are officially Abigail Catherine and Maxwell William. Since I know they will feel like a prince and princess, their middle names are after the young royals. Seems fitting since I am originally from England. |

| I wanted to name our new baby Bubba, because that's what we called our late Lab, Bruno. But my daughter said that nickname was reserved for Bruno. Then I came up with Maurice and call him Mo. Maurice just didn't fit him, so after a couple days of brainstorming, my daughter blurted "Moses!". Thus our new baby boy had a name! We still call him Mo too!

| Although both of mine are rescues.. Peanut came to us as PEanut. So, it just stayed the same. We call him peanut butter, nutter, but, nut but and pp... He knows them all. Tink had NO NAME. She was found wondering onthe side of the road NO one claimed her and the nice lady that I got her from called her little mama, although, she is spayed. My daighter picked her up for me and said she looked like a little tinker toy. We statred calling her Tink and Tinky too!! ???

| I have always named my dogs after something that fits in our lives at the time.. I had a minpin named Peja (different spelling but came from the then Sac Kings Player) Zeus's Shadow was also a minpin, who thought he was a God, we were really into greek mythology at the time, Sasha Ming - she was named sasha before I got her, she was a pekingese so I wanted to add some culture to her, the added ming was for the ming dynasty. And finally, we have Kizzie, our little Morkie Pup, and she's an only dog in our house now.. Kizzie took us days to name, she came named Katie from the breeder, which is cute but we know a lot of people with that name.. Kinzie was a big favorite but again we know people with that or close to that name.. Kizzie comes running when you make kissy noises with the happiest little body wag and gives you kisses.. eventually we just started calling her Kissy, and Kinzie... then merged them into Kizzie.. perfect meld and perfect pup! |
