Here is how it goes at our house when we name or rename a dog.
I look in the Websters and start listing all the names I think suit that particular dog or breed. Then my dh and I take turns vetoing a name until there is one left. That is how it works. That way we are both happy with the name and we don't argue about what to call her or him. I don't know why it matters here because he is going to come up with screwy versions of their names anyway.
Gracie came to us as Gracie and she was too old to change it but she answers to May May.
Adie is usually called Kay Kay
(Adie Cakes to Cakes to Kay Kay)
Skeeter is Skeety or Peaty.
DH likes to call him fat bastard. sigh
Cassie for some reason has always been
Cassie, Cass, or Cassie Bug
Touhy, the cat, used to be Susie 2 (named after my childhood cat) but it got changed to Two Two then Touhy.
We are so weird.
