| Why that name.... ? Just thought this would be an interesting thread to post. Every single time someone asks what my dog's name is and I say Macy. The first thing they always ask, 'Did you name her after the mall, Macy's?" NOOOOOOOOO. I didn't name Macy after Macy's. I just love the name and I think it fits my dog perfectly. Heck, I wasn't even thinking of Macy's when I named her! lol. Just a name I love. So why did you name your dog whatever you named him/her?

| I like the sound of Rubin and it means son. My small little stud dog is named Abba, it means father/ daddy. Grace because I believe in God's saving grace. Genevieve Joy(Ginny Joy) was named for a friend and joy because she is a joy. |

| Jackson was named after Johnny Cash's 'Jackson' but I also loved Michael Jackson/Jackson 5 so it just fit. I have a problem with names, I am obsessed, lol. I'm pretty sure I have my future dog already named with no plans for a second dog yet, haha.

| cute. I thought of the store when I saw Macy. I thought, she loves to shop!! It is a very cute name. Sammy... I wanted to name him something Asian-- he is a lasha (they are from Tibet) I was outvoted. So he is Sammy.. Samuel Adams (beer) Remy -- the finest top grade Liquor - Cognac. I was thinking Brandy, but got voted down again so settled on Remy- I like the name better. Bailey.. my dtr named him. His sister was Zoie I named her. Friends call him Bailey Irish Cream (or tank because he is a big shih tuz) The funny part.. I don't really drink. I glass of wine knocks me out.

| My daughter, Alex, named Nala after the little girl lion on the Lion King. It is quite fitting because she stalks our bigger dog and pounces on her like a little lion.

| It is funny .. I love to think of names too. I have a very unusual given name.. Shinja. It is Japaneses. I am not. The name means believer, but my mom did not know that when she gave it to me. It was a bit tough growing up in the deep south with that name. Many people seam surprised when they met me because I am not Asian, just plain ole Irish American. Well.. my point.. I had so many names for my children, but my dh is boring and would not let me name them unusual names. bummer... I tried to make up for it with my fur babies. I was so surprised when I met fur-babies named Remy.. and even people! I totally missed the boat with Zoie... very cute but not uncommon.

| I honestly don't know where Tibbe's name came from - just came into my head! It fits him - he's a little different! Had me up half the night training and going through all of his obedience tricks, etc. He loves to work. He's a dream dog!

| My b/f came up with Ozzy (Ozzy Osbourne). It was the only name everyone in the family agreed on, after we all sat around throwing out names for about two hours. I wanted Kato, because he is like a ninja. Small, and so quiet he just seems to appear out of nowhere, and he disappears from sight in the blink of an eye. But I like Ozzy (Oz; Oz-man; Oz-some; Ozzy-wozzy) too. |

| Tessie is really Princess Contessa, named after her mother. Hobbes- Sir Calvin Hobbes, after Calvin and Hobbes comic strip, my sons favorite. Calvin- Sir Calvin Rocky. after the comic strip. Rocky is the breeders nick name for him. Didn't know we were getting another yorkie when we named Hobbes. Sassy- Miss Sassy Baby, just liked the name Sassy, Baby was breeders nick name. She has really lived up to her name. Hobbes, Calvin and Sassy are from the same doggie mom and dad but different litters.

| The name Sophie just came to me when I first saw her at two weeks old. When we finally were able to bring her home the name seemed to fit and my husband liked it. It made me think of soft and adorable and our Sophie is all that and much, much more.

| Mina (strong willed warrior). Ya it fits, she is trying so hard to be the alpha and not making it. Our chi is afraid of the waterbowl and the other night he was creeping up on it,Mina sat and watched. About the time he stuck his head in the bowl,Mina pounced on him and he shot off like a rocket. I started with a very long list of girl and boy names with meanings. My daughters and I whittled it down to 3 of each. When I knew that my baby would be a girl,I spent some time looking at her picture in my email and just knew it was the right name. |

| We were planning on naming her Zoey but when we saw her my girls thought she looked like an Ella. Most of the time I call her Boo and my 9 year old calls her Scoot.

| Tiki's name was derived from "Nautique". We've had Correct Craft Natuique ski boats for the last 25 years. We didn't want to use the "tique" spelling so changed it to "Tiki". We named our new baby boy Tucker just because that was the name we ALL agreed that we liked and it fit his personality to a " T "..We call him Mr. T
