Remy Insulted on the streets of Chicago!!

I get the rat comment constantly.. everywhere I go.. Kizzie isn't a rat, though she does look like a little bunny when she's running as she hops to leap over the grass.. I don't mind the bunny comment, it's cute and meant in a cute way.. People who call her a rat are doing it to demean her &/or me.. I don't call your baby a smelly skunk when I walk by.. though they certainly smell like one when their diapers are full!

I used to get the rat comment all the time with Biscuit(RIP) and I would just inch a little closer to anyone saying it and he would snarl his upper lip and growl at them (ok so that wasnt really nice of me ) That almost always stopped the comments.

I haven't had much of that with Trixie....but friends of ours do howl with laughter when then see her in her stroller

We've gotten the rat comment so much - especially from family! I know they think Lucy is cute and they are just jealous so I keep my mouth shut.

But I don't understand total strangers saying things to be hurtful that aren't true. How rude and I'm sorry they felt they had to do it so you could hear.

There does seem to be a faction of people out there that have great disdain for small dogs like yorkies (guess they all think we are Paris Hilton). I see deragotory comments about small dogs on another board I frequent.

Last time I took Lucy to the dog park, one couple was leaving and I overheard them say they were afraid their dog might 'step on it'. And I was in the small dog park.

Lucy is the sweetest dog with the best temprement. If they are so dumb to think all that matters is how big she is - then I have no use for them.

Well the NERVE! Definitely jealous...not to mention, rude and ignorant!
I've been walking Zoe and heard many rude things, too. "Is that a CAT?" and "I hate it when people put their dogs in clothes!" and Also the "OMG, that is ridiculous". Some people's mothers obviously didn't teach them that "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all"!
It really doesn't matter what people like that think or say, I suppose.
Remy is absolutely adorable (but I presume you think so even more than we do! )

I know some people are rude, silly, mean, or just plain dumb (ignorant by choice). Once someone said something rude to my sister like , 'Uck one yippy wantabe dog.' She smiled and said " Oh and you would wantabe funny, but you are not !"
Remy is sweet and cute and has better manners than some people.

The stupidity of people amazes me! How rude! Remy is gorgeous. She needs to go pee on their pillow!!!

I get that all the time. My little girl is a Service Dog (hearing dog) and people are always saying they don't believe it. Those ears of hers hone in on everything. Recently on a long plane trip just after we got seated and the plane took off she gave me the "cue" that something was wrong. Since I don't hear well that is her job and she is NEVER wrong. I tried to get her to settle down but she would not have any of it, so I had to crawl over the other two seats to get to the aisle where she almost jumped out of my arms toward the rear of the plane (we were in a bulkhead seat). When we got the back of the plan she let me know the issue was something about the restroom and when the flight attendant looked at me I told her I didn't know what it was but that I thought she should check it out -- she opened the restroom door and about 10 inches of water rushed out into the plane and water was pouring from somewhere -- one of the captains came back and went behind the restroom and eventually the water stopped.

From then on the "little hairy rat" was a hero because the captain said if she had not found the problem that quickly he would have had to make an emergency landing and would have messed up everyones trip. She got filet mignon and mashed potatoes from first class for dinner Those ears of hers never miss!

Acouple days ago on 4th of july i had a family over well his daughter pulls momos tail and I know my baby is not so kid friendly i told everyone that and so when the daughter was pulling his tail he cried and i told her stop and grabbed momo later on when i was in side she came in and did it again but this time he snaped at her and my cousin actually told me ur lucky ur in here or i would have kicked ur mutt! now i got mad and me and him actually exchanged some words they left and i am glad.

any person who cant respect me and my family can be gone i dont need them in my life!!!

There are morons in every State and every City. Don't get upset over a dumb comment. Outside of the idiot, hope you had a good time in the Windy City.

No one ever called Maxine or one of the spice boys a Rat, Gerbil, etc. Perhaps that is becuase Carlo is always there watching their back. If someone did, I would have to hold my wife back from attacking.

Not on it, IN IT! haha. Wow. You are a really nice person. I would have tore them up. Remy is one of the prettiest yorkies I have seen. I know she was beautiful in her dress. Next time just say "Bite me!" to the ignorant people.

I didn't know you were here! There are so many Yorkie's in the city it's like common place to see them. My husband works downtown and gives me a daily Yorkie report. It never involves gerbils or hamsters. He comes home almost every day to tell me about a cute little Yorkie some woman was walking. I get a report on full coat or short coat, harness or collar, topknot or not. I swear he's too much. I will have to show him a picture so that he can keep an eye out for you and Remy tomorrow. You need to look for him too.

Remy is a doll and they are just jealous!
