Nope, dead serious! I was checking one of my employees displays and I came around the corner to see a little boy, probably about 5 I would say, pulling down his little pants and pull ups and getting up on the toilet. I was so shocked, I just stared.

I have 2 very good friends,between the three of us we have 16(no it isn't a typo) children. They are now ages 26 to 14. We would plan lunches with buffets to teach our littleones how to act. We took them to restaurants,after the rush,with the sole purpose of teaching them that they could bless people in public by behaving. Little ones can be taught,ya just have to MAKE time to do it. A small child learning to be in public doesn't just happen.
One of my children (on meds) at the age of three,started to wind up in a grocery store once. I shop once a month and it is an ordeal,I took my cart to cutomer service,apologized for the noise,told them I would be back later and left. When I went back that evening,the manager had saved my cart for me so I could finish. It was very inconvient but my child wasn't blessing anyone,especially me by being upset.

It is a privilege to get to eat out. If your kids can't behave then stay home. If you know your kid acts up then stay home!!!

I had to go have words with a mother at my sons college graduation last month. It was at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Where the NY Islander hockey team plays. There were tons of people. All of a sudden this family with about 50 people came up and they were all like sitting all around us. First of all they were late. Second of all they were so loud and rude. Everyone was looking at them. My husband and myself and our 3 kids got up and moved to another aisle. Well all of a sudden the kids were just running a muck. I got up, couldn't climb over my daughter fast enough, and promptly told the woman, "I have waited 21yrs and over $100,000 in college bills, I would like to at the very least be able to just hear my son's name be called. If you don't calm down the kids and the noise I will get security to do it for you!!" She immediately started rounding up the kids and tried to keep them quiet.

Is it me???

that happens at my husband's walgreens. as does old people and people with disabilities. it's gross but it's just part of life. sometimes they can't quite make it to the back and things come out.

Ok now if it's a human child that did it, I would make the parent clean it up, but many many times, people have brought their dog in my shop and they had an accident, and they just say oh I'm sorry and don't even try to pretend to clean it up! I have to do it like I'm their hired help! I should do that next time. hand them the napkins and lysol.

I always carry a ziplock with a papertowel in it or two or three. Learned this from my RVing parents and their friends. I just keep it in my pocket or my husbands pocket if I dont have one.
I can not believe that someone would just walk off from a pile in a store,but it even happens in the petstore where they PROVIDE clean up stuff for you.

I believe it. But.. I can tell you how many dinners at nice restaurants I have spent in bathrooms or out side on the sidewalk because my children were too young or too restless to set still any longer. The one time I ever hit my dh was when after a large get together and very long meal at a restaurant that I did not even eat my meal because of the above he said
"oh the girls were good weren't they" Some people just don't have a clue.

Children need limits!!

My girls used to tell me that when they went out their friends always look to them for etiquette guidance.

My step daughters children have horrible manners. They are really nice children and it really bothers me that they are not being taught manners.
Every summer I come away after a visit dismayed. I am just amazed.

yelp... never say never. What you fear the most will happen with children.
I agree, remove them from the situation if you can.

I teach my students that manners and etiquette rules are made so we don't gross or disrupt other people. That applies on how we deal with our children and pets in public.
