| Thanks, everyone. It is hard and I am still trying to find someone who could watch her while I am gone. No luck so far but I understand it is hard to babysit for months at a time. It looks like I will be gone for over a year (time-span-wise) with multiple trips to multiple countries. I know chances of finding someone to care for her are not very high. Here are a few of her recent photos. I am worried because I think yorkies need someone who understand them and know how to care for them to stay happy and healthy. Some people said it is just a dog but she is family to me and I need to ensure she is well loved, happy and healthy. I am glad I came here for your advice. You guys are great and I appreciate your support. Even though it doesn’t look so bright, I don’t think I would try to place her until I am certain there are no other options. Thanks again and I will look into local Yorkie Rescue and maybe start a thread here. |

| I am in colorado and let me tell you - rescues are full during summer - any chance of delaying to find her a home until the end of summer? I foster dogs occasionally and it is unbelievable how many dogs are put up for adoption during vaccation season ... The best would be if you can self foster her until someone adopts her. The good news is that there are many many people looking for a sweet little yorkie girl so it shouldn't be too hard to place her. Please PM me if there is an emergency as I will help in any way I can ( even if it might be a temporary foster situation). I just placed our last foster ( a 4lb Maltese) and we have room for another. I have 2 small breed dogs that are very spoiled and well taken care of and 2 small children - both know how to be gentle and your baby would be safe. I stay at home most of the day and know what tiny doggies need Both of my dogs are docile and the younger one is very much an omega personality - they are both used to living with guest dogs and would share their space, yard and love. Please stay away from Craigslist people and bargain hunters - unfortunately there are many that will take even an older dog that looks small and cute and sell him as a puppy the next day to unsuspecting families - disgusting! |

| Praying that flybear can give your baby a home if only temporarily.

| Are you going to want her back once you have finished traveling for your job or is this a permanent rehome. She is adorable, what is here name? How quickly do you need to find a home. |

| Hello, Sorry to hear about your parting with your pup. I am new to yorkietalk and entered this forum looking to give a good home to a yorkie. I recently moved to MA from NY and finally have space for a doggie. I would be willing to talk to you if you were interested. Best, Nela |

It has never entered my mind that many people gave up their dog during "vacation season." That's terrible. I will keep her at a boarding facility while I am away till the end of summer. The most important thing is that she gets the best shot at finding a wonderful family. I also did not know people would pretend to love her and then turn around and try to profit from her. That's awful. Before I read your post, I was mostly worrying about people not willing to provide medical care if she ever needs it (thank goodness she hasn't need any medical attention but they are like kids and they will need it at some point). You are right. Since she is not for sell, it would attract all kind of people. I will have to be very careful. Thank you for the advice.

| Her name is Kane (it means precious daughter). This would be a permanent rehome. It would be wonderful to have her back but I wasn't able to find her a foster home for a year. Originally, I was going to place her by July 12. But I am going to take the advice from flybear and board her till the end of summer. The absolute deadline is next April. But if a great family came along before then, I will have to take it. |

| I feel so badly for you. Having her since she was 12 weeks and now she is 6 yrs old is a long time . Then having to give her up , I absolutely could not do it. I would first try family members and close friends to take her in . A year does not sound too long after having a dog for 6yrs already. I would even try to look at my schedule and do some rearrangeing if I could . A rescue would take really good care of her, and someone on YT may be able to help you out. rehome her to a YT member is better then a rescue. I hope that she goes to a good home with lots of love and attention.

I have looked at all our options but nothing works. If I don't take the assignment, I will not have a job anymore. My field is very specialized with limited job opportunity (some of the people in our field have been out of work for over a year now). I am not among the fortunate ones who do not have to worry about having a job. But maybe you are. Now, a year may not sound very long to some people, but for a Yorkie in a boarding facility, it must feels like eternity. And that is not an option for us.
