Mom has decided against getting her. Not because of the mix but the run around from the breeder. Glad you are leaving the scammer behind. There are no "papers" to fix on a mixed breed and even on a purebred, it's up to the breeder to submit the initial paperwork with the AKC and make sure it's correct.

It is impossible for us to look at a pic. and say for sure this pup is 'this' breed. This may be a pure breed dog, but if it is, it is not a Yorkie. It could be a hybrid (A puppy who's father and mother are purebreeds but, different breeds, ike a Yorkie father and a Pomeranian mother) . This adorable puppy might be a mixed breed of several kinds of dogs. I think you need to clarify WHO is AKC registered. If you are simply looking for a pet that might not be important to you. Best wishes.

A breeder trying to pass off a Pom mix as a yorkie? Wow , that is bad. Glad that you questioned it. The thing is people know they can get a lot more money off a pure bred puppy , then a pommix, that is a very poor breeder and a shame to try and do this.
If I were you I would educate yourself about the breed, look at YT, pictures of what a Yorkie Puppy should look like, and familarize yourself before placing a deposit on any new puppy. The puppy is pretty cute though, however that breeder is very dishonest.. Makes me upset

According to AKC rules, if a dog is registered with them you are entitled to have registration papers! They will force the issue. Ask the breeder for the AKC paperwork where she would have received a puppy registration form that should have been given to you. She needs to sign it in the appropriate places and you will be able to send in the puppy registration and a small fee. The dog is adorable but it is not a yorkie or silkie. I tend to agree with the other YT members commenting on this subject that she may be part pom. She is the cutest little thing though so don't be upset but I would give the breeder a chance to make things right and if she doesn't, call AKC and they will talk with her. This dog does not meet AKC Yorkie standards and they do not register mixed breeds in the same way they do purebreds. Ask to see the dog's parents pedigree.
