| There's A Duck In Our Pool Last week we opened our pool and the other night all the dogs were sitting on our deck. I went into the house for a minute to asnswer the phone. All of a sudden I heard the dogs going crazy. They were barking on top of their lungs. I ran outside because I thought they were in some kind of trouble and swimming inside the pool was a wild duck just quacking away and having a ball. I ran in to get my camera but he flew away. It was really funny because my basset hound Cleo was standing on top of the pool steps barking her head off and the duck was just ignoring her. My neighbor said they sometimes go into the inground pools but he's never seen one in an above ground pool. It took me an hour to calm the dogs down. |

| We had a Bassett Hound named Cleo in the early 70's. Unfortunately, we were young and dumb, bought her from a pet store in NC who go her from a BYB. Worst dog we ever had. When the oldest child came along, we realize after 8 months we would have to give her away. She ould have attacked the baby. She was a vicious and mentally unbalanced dog. We found a farmer that took her who had no kids where she lived to be 15. As far as the duck, 20 gauge and #4 shot. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | We have a pond, and I thought the same thing as you at first, it looks really cute to see them floating on the pond, but they wreak havoc on your filtering system, ducks are poop machines! Joey does a good job of chasing them out though.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Well, I'll teach you what I learned on the pond forum, since you've taught me so many things about Yorkies. Ducks don't eat meat, they're vegetarians, and fish are considered meat. Ducks eat the algae and plants in water. Lots of other birds eat fish though, especially Herons, and once they taste your pond, they remember it forever. Joey has saved many fish! I can't believe he can chase a huge Heron away; they can be pretty scary looking.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | The led lighting will look beautiful. Can't wait to see pictures, there's something so relaxing about a pond.

| Yea when he gets it all done Im gonna post pictures. Hes gonna be so proud because he is for the most part doing it all himself. He has a couple of friends laying the rock and a friend dug the hole with a back hoe but other than that he has done it. He also had to dig these trenches in our yard so the electrician could bury our electrical line so hes done alot of work
