| First of, why did you want to breed her? I just spayed my 5 year old "rescue", she was pregnant with puppies that were rather large, father unknown. Long story..but I would take her to a vet and see if they can help you. Wishing you the best. Please keep us updated.

| I second that what the above poster said. Why would you want her to be pregnant.

| yes she could get pregnant. time for a spay if you ask me. hoping that the tie wasn't on purpose and only an "accident" and to prevent anymore accidents i suggest you spay her before it's too late. pregnancy is hard on a dog and really hard on an owner that's never whelped before. i would go see a vet and make sure she's not pregnant and if not i'd spay her right away. |

| Have you spoken to your vet? I would speak to your vet about the possibilities of pregnancy (I would imagine she could be) and if she is able to carry a pregnancy to full-term and able to withstand a whelp. You could also post in the breeder's section asking if in their expert opinion will a dog of that age and health (?) could she and the pups survive? Just from human med, I would venture to say the older the dam, the higher the probability of a high risk pregnancy/birth, necessitating a lot of vet bills. |

| Yorkies are such heard dogs to breed, so much can go wrong because of their size. I know from experience as we had an accidental litter. My own fault as I did not have my girl spayed in time and I had an intact boy (he was a show dog). Were you trying to breed? Have you done all your reasearch on this? Are you prepared for a possible c section? A dog can get pregnant only tying once. She is a small girl. My girl was 8 pounds when she gave birth and she had a c section, then for the next year I spent 17,000.00 keeping her alive and healthy, yes 17,000.00 in one year!! I have nothing but praise for those who breed these guy and do it well, but it is not something one should do without experience or the help of a good breeder very nearby. Ar you prepared for the possibility of losing your girl? I am not trying to sound mean, but as I said I am speaking from experience and it was a year of complete hell that followed. Thank God my girl survived!!! I wish you luck

| I also posted this on your other thread: Please don't take this the wrong way, I just don't know an easy way to say it. Breeding these little ones correctly takes a lot of research, knowledge and experience. Your original question of whether she could be pregnant from two ties shows that you don't have any of that yet. You need to read, study, learn much more than you obviously have before you even begin to think about breeding. I say this because of my concern for your girl's safety. It's your responsibility to make sure she's taken care of and having a first litter at her age is very dangerous - especially in untrained hands like yours. Her pelvis has stiffened with age which makes a c-section and other severe complications much more likely. You are taking a serious risk with your girl's life and health. Please think hard about that. Best wishes for your little girl in all of this. Bonny

| Seems like the OP knows a thing or two about pregnant yorkies (look at the threads she has started, seems she had pups last year too)

| I didn't look at those. I just went by her original question on this thread - and anyone knowledgeable enough to breed would easily know the answer to such a basic question.

| I don't know what's going on here (whether or not it was on purpose, what you're trying to do) but to answer your question, YES - a dog can get pregnant from two ties, only one actually. Frankly, if you don't know the answer to that question, that alone makes you NOT knowledgable enough to breeding at all and sorry, but I mean "AT ALL", that's just common sense biology.

| babyjohn1- Please take her into the vet and have her checked out, if pregnant please have her spayed. " This is her first and last time" Are you saying this was done on purpose? If you care for this female you will go get her checked out.
