| Do you find yourself.... Stressing out and worrying for your Yorkie as you would your skin kids? I know this is probably just a silly question, but thought I would ask anyway. I have an almost 2 year old son who had and still has some special needs. We almost lost him after birth and I am OVERLY alert to his breathing and noises during the night. He slept on a pulse oxygen monitor until about 2 mos ago, but that's neither here or there. My point is, last night Bella vomited. Only once, right before bed, but I was on HIGH alert after this! I gave her some water and she layed down right next to me and slept all night. Strange for her I thought because she usually lays near the end of the bed. So I CONSTANTLY checked her to make sure she was breathing last night! Each time I awoke to do this my heart started racing! I was scared because I had fallen asleep. LOL I know I can't stay up all night over her vomiting once, but I was just curious if anyone else feels this way at the possibility of your furbaby being ill?? Or am I just a nutcase because all she did was vomit once?? Btw, she seems perfect this morning! So strange though....

| If you are both strange than so am i! I don't have kids but I check on my dogs as if they were my skin kids. If they are still and quiet I will check to see if they are still breathing. I thought it to be quite ridiculous but am glad I'm not the only ridiculous one!

I am so relieved that there are others who act this way...Phew. It is an ongoing joke around my house that I care more for Bella than my own children. That is not true at all. I just love her the same! Just as I would give my children a kidney if needed, I would do the same for Bella. Haha obviously that won't work, but you get where I'm going!

| I fall under the strange yorkie club too. We had bad weather in our area this morning, high winds, tornado warnings, thunder and lightening and heavy rain. You think ya'll are strange, I packed my furbabies up and brought them to work with me till the storm passed over. They jumped into the bag the minute I sat it down and started loaded it up. Picture of them laying by my desk. |

| Oh definitely! With both skin and furkids. Even though I only have one daughter in college I'm still a worry-wart. Whether I hear sirens around my neighborhood or hear about an accident nearby I'll call her to see if she's okay and if she doesn't answer I'm freaking out. She thinks I'm crazy LOL I always tell her when she's a mom she'll understand... Even when I feel Louie's sleeping too much I'll ask my husband or daughter if they think he's acting sick or if I should take him to the vets. I'll literally watch him all day if he throws up to pick up on other signs but that was because of the issue with kidney failure with my poor lil Brody. I also have a 36 yr old parrot who is usually VERY vocal. If he's not talking or sleeping momma's watching him. I don't think it ever ends with kids or animals. It's a good thing. I think it means you're conscientious. I love my animals with everything and I also love and want the best for my daughter so of course I'm worrying. I'd like to think of it as being "extra-aware" not worrying hehe

My goodness, sooo cute!! Mommas babies they are! 111lily, it really is never ending! It is better, I agree to call it a heightened sense os awareness so to speak. LOL My oldest is almost 14 going on 21 and I have everything inbetween all the way down to almost 2yrs. I am a ball of nerves over these kids and Bella! I never truly relax I don't think? This morning we went for donuts and my oldest was with me and so was Bella. When we arrived home he opened the car door (while holding her) and said "go Bella run free"! He was just playing as he knew that would give me a heart attack!! Needless to say he got in trouble for that, cause we don't play like that when it comes to a family member! LOL Must be a teenage thing?! Cruel, cruel I tell ya!

| I'm glad this thread was started! I know other people think I'm nuts when it comes to Princess, it's nice to see I'm not alone. When she was 8 months old she ate a small piece of an oil pastel and threw up many times. When I called the ER vet every time I went to speak, even tho I wasn't crying, my voice would quiver so bad they could barely understand me!! I think I worry more about her than Jasmine because one, she is so tiny-I'd worry about a newborn, too. and two, because we (should) have a natural instinct on how to care for a human. Dogs are not our kind, and can be a lot harder to read.

| Well you can count me in the strange club as well. I watch their every move and if something seems off, I go high alert. Now my dog's think I'm crazy, cause I know get tired of checking on them especially if they are sleeping. With my Molly who passed away in October, I was always on high alert to her breathing since in the end cancer had moved to her lungs and I had done everything that could be done. You wouldn't believe how many late night ER Trips I made.

♪♥ Jazi & Izi's Mom ♥♫ Donating Member | So glad to know it's not just me! I lie awake sometimes just listening to my fur girlz just to make sure they're breathing without waking them because of my own anxiety. I think we're all just good moms and love our fur babes! |
