| I avoided opening this post all day because I KNEW what I was going to see. I have to admit that it actually wasn't as bad as I thought. I WISH some of you could see the mills in PERSON. It is SOOOOOOOOOOO sad and heartbreaking .i-It would open so many of your eyes and hearts to actually see this stuff first hand. I have to admit that i am one of the biggest suckers for breaking rescue rule and taking some of these pups home from these mills. I just can't help it . I spoetimes feel I have to save the poor baby and what i am really doing is perpetuating . These people will breed a dog til it drops dead and I literally mean that. Say a dog gets a bad infected tail... so what they chop it off with the kitchen sheers. And if it makes it t makes it. Sad stuff like that. If you ever saw a boney, hairless, one eyed, 3 legged ,earless breeding dog ..... You might change you mind about buying from MILL petshops

| Thanks for posting those pics and information Vilette. I swear it just breaks my heart to look at those faces, they are just scared of living. Just cowered down. Our babies are so lucky because we love them soooo much but these poor little babies live a life of misery just to make a dollar. It makes me sick to my stomach. I appreciate you making an effort to make everyone aware of this terrible reality. |

| that is horrible! they should flood tv with this kind of animal treatment so people not on yorkie talk could see how these animals are treated. maybe the akc or the vet some one should be able to limit the amout of dogs your allowed to have if your breeding. if you are breeding and have papered dog then the akc should have a part in it and they should over see what you are doing . i dont know maybe that would help stop this.some people shouldnt even walk this earth. |

I think the same things should be done to them that they do to helpless animals -

| I am new to YorkieTalk. I am so upset about these puppy mills. Are all puppies purchased at pet stores bred in puppy mills? So sad... |

My wish is to 1st BAN the sale of LIVE animals in Pet Shops - then go after the mass breeders ....nice thought ....but hard to do. Which is why we need the whole country aware of these evil people and oiutraged - this is far more common than everyone thinks...every state practically has puppy mills operating.

| Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | O was on YorkieTalks Millbuster site this morning and found some stuff I had posted months ago - maybe this will help anyone who wants to report or write.....I just copied my own words here - I found this LIST of people who also can be contacted - this is the most comprehensive list I've seen. Make a MASTER LETTER and email everyone on this list if you find or know of a mill. You should follow this order in reporting them. The reason to follow the order is that the goal is to permanently shut them down. Mills are in the industry to make money. They make money because they have the ability to say their dogs are “AKC”. You want the first agency involved to be the agency that can do the greatest amount of damage to the operation. The AKC has that power. Report to or write letters to: 1 AKC (American Kennel Club) 2 Local Humane Society 3 Fraud regarding their income (typically, a person on public assistance can not have an income, or there are limits to the income they can have County Treasurer Worker's Compensation Disability Services Welfare/Health Care/Medicaid 4 County Dept of Health 5 State Dept of Agriculture 6 Zoning Commission 7 Attorney General’s Office 8 County Auditor’s Office 9 USDA, United States Dept of Ag does not seem to be an agency that will respond in a timely manner THIS link applies to Ohio but has GREAT definitions on how to help shut down puppy mills http://columbusdogconnection.com/ReportingPupMill.htm ps. Yorkietalks's sister site MILLBUSTER FORUM IS STILL Active - I just got on it today after not being able to access it for a while: http://www.millbusters.com/forums/index.php?

| I am sitting here sick to my stomach, with tears flowing. It is so horrible what ALL of these poor babies must endure. If the people walking through the pet store saying oh look at the cute little baby knew what the Mom and Dad were subjected to I don't think they would be saying that. I think the key to putting a dent in stopping the horrid conditions at puppy mills is to educate the public on puppy mills. I know a few months ago we were all trying to get Ophra to do a special. I think maybe if we continue to contact the media. Maybe just Maybe we can get someone to do a story on puppymills. How about writing letters to either sixty minutes, 48 hrs. or one of the other big primetime news shows. Maybe if we pester them long enough they may finally take this issue serious.

| Thanks for posting these pictures even though they are so disturbing! These puppymills need to be stopped...The people who do buy from pet stores have no idea about the conditions the pups come from. They have no idea that the parents of these animals are being neglected, malnourised, and living in terrible conditions. That's why we're here to educate these people. Everytime I get a chance to tell someone about puppymills, I do. Way to go Diego! Those 3 people that you educated will turn around and tell even more people. Little by little we'll get things done. This is a great thread for new members to see. Most people don't know about puppymills, but this will definitely open their eyes. |

| Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | It IS a great idea....We did do it months back ....but we can up the pace and do it again - ALL the shows have contact info opn their websites - Oprah is compassionate and I think 60 minutes is a good one - Also ...contact your LOCAL media - All someone has to do is take ONE letter and mass mail it to the various stations - it really doesn't take that long and there are many dog lovers in the media - we sure aren't the only ones outraged...but sometimes the media just needs that ONE letter to get their attention.... Thank you to EVERYONE who is helping... this is really good feedback for this problem.....WE all really CAN make a difference.... |
