| ![]() I am soooooo glad that baby is okay. Thank you, thank you, thank you for saying you are going to keep her leashed for now on. They are so unpredictable. I wouldn't trust mine off leash as for as I could throw a bull. Besides we have a leash law also. You know, its even scary to think how they can be attacked by other dogs etc. I know they could anyway but at least they would have a better chance of something not happening if they are leashed. Give that baby a big kiss. I bet it scared her to death too, bless her little heart. Hope you are feeling better too. |

| ![]() I'm so glad your baby is ok. A few weeks ago I had an issue with my little 4 pounder Simba. I was in the parking lot of Starbucks and I had his Puppia harness on him. The harness has always been a little big. The XXS is too small to go over his head easily so I bought the XS thinking it would work better. I'm still not sure how it happened but as I was walking with him he managed to slip out of his harness and took off running across the parking lot (the Starbucks is in a strip mall so it's a VERY big parking lot). I was chasing after him and he came within inches of being hit by a car but veered in the other direction at the last second. He finally decided to sit down and wait for me to come pick him up. I can't even tell you how bad I was shaking I was so scared and upset. I promptly drove over to the pet store and I was able to find a harness in a different brand that has velcro under the neck and stomach so it fits MUCH better. The moral of the story is not only do we need to keep our pets leased but also to make sure they fit properly! |

Not that I am even remotely cruel to animals but we had an incident about a month ago that two dogs came out of the woods and attacked a dog that we were "caring" for until the owners were able to get him back. Thank God he held his own and that one of the guys heard the commotion and went out there and chased them off. I keep a BB gun right next to my downstairs door and HAVE gotten it to use. It's a sting that should make a lasting impression.

| ![]() Just a thought...dog mace-they make distant spray guns now-not the pathetic ones that look like breath freshening spray and don't spray very far. A BB gun shooting can get you in big trouble...despite defending your dogs on your own property...defending yourself or your dog etc isn't cruel-paintball gun might be better option too-it definitely won't penetrate skin, lets it be known where and in general the dog was hit. Paintball guns pack quite a punch too...trust me...been patterned myself a few times ![]() Quote:

I got to keep this post hush hush from my DH. If he knew that you proposed a paintball gun in lieu of a BB gun, I could just see now what he would pull up the driveway with. OMG...LOL ![]() ![]()

| ![]() You are too funny! Yes, lets keep this hush hush if the boy here (no the one in his 30's not the 6 year old) heard I actually suggested a paint ball gun he'd not only never let me heard the end of it because of my anti aggression training rantings...but he'd drop a couple hundred in a heart beat on the full family gear set of paint-balling...we'd have targets, a pb course, bunkers and WWIII in the back yard... ![]() Quote:

| ![]() One time when Heidi was about 6 months old I went thru the drive thru at Taco Bueno. She was sitting in the other front seat. I rolled down the window, made my order and drove to the pickup window. Next thing I knew, in one swift leap she jumped out of the car window! I about freaked out. Couldn't get the door unlocked & seat belt off fast enough afraid she might get ran over. When I got the door open she was sitting there staring up at the door like she was thinking, "Well, let me in!" My heart was pounding. Needless to say after that I bought her a car seat! |

| ![]() What a blessing that everything turned out ok. Thanks for the reminder of how careful we all need to be!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | ![]() I am so glad she was safe. When I walk my 4 (not very often) I always have someone else with because I can't handle all 4 if a bog dog were to approach us. Pixie will only walk on a leash if I don't hold it. I won't be doing that anymore. Thanks for the reminder it is never safe to have them off leash.
