I'm so glad your baby is ok. A few weeks ago I had an issue with my little 4 pounder Simba. I was in the parking lot of Starbucks and I had his Puppia harness on him. The harness has always been a little big. The XXS is too small to go over his head easily so I bought the XS thinking it would work better. I'm still not sure how it happened but as I was walking with him he managed to slip out of his harness and took off running across the parking lot (the Starbucks is in a strip mall so it's a VERY big parking lot). I was chasing after him and he came within inches of being hit by a car but veered in the other direction at the last second. He finally decided to sit down and wait for me to come pick him up. I can't even tell you how bad I was shaking I was so scared and upset. I promptly drove over to the pet store and I was able to find a harness in a different brand that has velcro under the neck and stomach so it fits MUCH better.

The moral of the story is not only do we need to keep our pets leased but also to make sure they fit properly!
