| I agree with everyone and the older pup. I'm student teaching & got Kasha unexpectedly a month before summer vacation and it honestly would have been impossible if my BF didn't have a flexible work sched & my mom didn't babysit when we were both working. I can't imagine doing it during the school year. Kasha is JUST settling down at 8months and I feel fine leaving her while I'm at school.

| Would it be possible for you to purchase a puppy from one of the breeders with the condition that they keep it for you until winter break? Maybe they would allow you to visit on weekend until you could bring your pup home. That way you could bond a little as well. If you explain the situation one of them might be willing to hold onto it for a few extra weeks. If they were just born they probably won't be ready till sometime in November anyway. That would also make the pup a few weeks older when it does finally have to be alone longer.

| Do you have doggie day-care centers around? There are two around me and my neighbor swore by them. The day-care fees are pretty minimal since no overnight boarding, even less if you are long-term. They feed, play, and walk your baby for you, even have them join same-size play groups (if they are friendly, if not, they are kept apart from others). There are on-site grooming available if you want that once in a while. If you want to pay extra, you can get a suite with its own flat screen tv playing dog-friendly shows. |

No Longer a Member | Where in South Korea are you? If you are near one of the military bases I know that spouses are always looking for something to do for work since SOFA agreements keep them from getting certain jobs so they get stuck either watching their kids, or if they don't have any...I don't know what they do if they don't have a job. All you have to do is post an add out there requesting a dog sitter/walker service, and I'm sure you'll get a hit or two. |

| I work full time and have Roxie, who is about a year and a half, and she does just fine. When I get home in the evenings , usually around 5 30 I take her for a lonnnng walk, we stay on 40 acres with goats and chickens (you get the idea..lol) and so she gets to run off leash and have a blast, and of course the weekends are all about her, so she seems to be ok with it. And nothing is sweeter than having your dog be the happiest to see you when you get home for the day; actually seems happier to see me than my husband and daughter do...lol...go figure... |

| if i remember correctly i belive the breeder did mention that the puppy is 40 days and def will not be ready for awhile :P its really hard getting yorkies in soko because there are only two reputable breeders that breed yorkies and they often don't have older yorkies (that was one of the q's ive asked) i'm just really torn still because everyone does have good arguments. however i am leaning more towards everyone who tells me that i can make it happen because its true, people do have full time jobs and still raise puppies. i just have to make the timing right. after i go visit the puppy i will update about what the breeder says! |

| I think if you place an ad you can find someone who will help you with checking up on your baby. I've found that the military, retired people, and church organizations are a great way to find someone. Good luck, I hope you find someone!

| My daughter's teacher had a yorkie puppy and the school allowed her to bring him to class with her during the day. Kids sorts of had him as the unofficial class pet. For potty concerns, the teacher was able to take him out when the kids switched from class to class. During instruction he just napped away. Possible option if your principal allows it. |

| I know that a lot of people work full time and have a puppy , somehow they make it happen and the puppy is fine . Just remember that a puppy needs to be the number one priority in your life, and time is very important to the survival of this baby. That is why many members suggested a older pup . I was lucky to be able to stay at home all the time with my 2 pups . They need time to bond and learn propper social skills as well as someone looking after their health & safety. I never knew how time consuming a little puppy was until having Suzi . These little guys hate to be alone , and require a great deal of attention . The puppy's needs has to come first , not what we want .

| update... met the breeder met her dogs and the new pups along with mom and dad. spoke to the breeder regarding its health weight, when it can go home, etc. the breeder's partner kept on telling me about how the pup's grandfather is an international champion (which i did not care about since i was not going to show the dog lol) i also spoke to her about possibly keeping the pup until mid december (end of dec-jan i only work 9-12 for 3 weeks and have a week off in feb, go to school until feb 17th and break until march 2nd: yes the korean school system is whacked!) and she said that would not be a problem. The breeder is awesome (though major language barrier) however she t old me that most likely the puppies will not have silk coats and will have cotton coats like the father. so most likely i will not get the batch. (plus i didnt really bond with any of the pups in the batch) she told me that there will be newpuppies coming soon in the new year (2 females are in heat) so i can come back in jan to meet the new puppies! i'm very excited! and the breeder is willing to keep the pup until it is a little older (etween 5-6 months) for no extra charge. random question. anyone have had rashes from a cotton coat? or am i just that sensitive? i held the father for 20 mins just chilling as i was waiting for the puppies, i got a small rash from his hair...(anything that rubs on me i get a rash so that could be it! mickey's puppy tangles used to give me rash and hes a silky!) |

| i personally suggest to get him around the holiday season when you have some time off of schhool/work. this will give you sometime to send with the puppy get him in a little routine ( eventhough its a puppy they learn fairly quick) and then try for a few day once u go back to work to check in on lunch time.. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Until I was laid off 5 years ago, I always had a dog and got them as puppies and worked full time. Most of the time, my husband got home by 3 pm and I had 1/2 days on Friday. Other than that the puppy was alone. I never had a problem. I kept them in the kitchen area and had newspaper down and kept food down. I just had to wash the floor everyday when I got home. All of them were trained to go outside. It did take longer to train them since I wasn't home during the day. All of mine slept in my room at night. You may want to get a little older one or a little larger one since you can't go home and check on the puppy during the day. If you are open to rescue, there are so many adult dogs looking for a loving home.
