| Welcome to YT. Just go slow, do a little reading. It will happen when the time is right. The puppy needs to be the one thats right for your family. Talk to some local breeders, most will be more than willing to answer all you questions. Pick you breeder first then pick a pup. This way you already know the person who is going to help shape your future babies personality and temperament. There is a lot of information on this sight about questions to ask, so that you can be more knowledgeable when you speak t breeders. Please just take a little time and and do a little reading, it can save you a lot of pain and expense down the road. Good luck in your search. |

I agree. I think it is a wonderful thing if you can find one and rescue. But please don't make us feel bad for not... I love my little Harley, we decided to go with a breeder for many reasons. There just weren't any small dogs in our area (I called all over the whole province and found one with very special needs and couldn't afford to support him)... and I didn't want to wait. Good luck finding your baby! I think it's great you want to rescue! | |

| I love my Yorkie. They are the ideal breed for people who have allergies. |

| This past weekend my daughter got an absolutely beautiful & sweet 2 yo Yorkie girl on Petfinders. She was from a rescue from a breeder in Alabama and had at least 1 litter by c-section. She is a total love, so you can get wonderful rescues. |

I'm just saying that not everyone is qualified or wants to adopt a rescue and shouldn't have it shoved down their throat if they decide otherwise. I applaud people who rescue and foster but it's not something that "everyone" can do.

| WELCOME TO YT!!! I commend you for coming on and finding us before making a purchase. There is just so much to learn and this is the place to do it!! ![]() I'm glad to see you're open to rescues, there are so many out there that deserve a second chance at a happy life. You can also find great information here about what to look for in a breeder. Someone local, who doesn't sell "teacup" yorkies or mixed breeds, as well as what questions to ask. There are also lots of threads you should read as a prospective puppy parent. They go in detail as to what to look out for. It's great you have the time to sort these things out. If you need help with anything, feel free to ask and anyone will help. ![]() Quote:
Oh well... he's the light of my life and I love him to bits. So he makes me sneeze everyday, it's not as bad as how cats and shedding dogs make me feel. He's totally worth it.
