This is one thing I can say I can;t wait until Roxy grows out of this puppy stage. Because she drives me insane when she does it.

Is it a puppy game? though? do your older pups do this axel is 9 months old this is our first yorkie, thanks for all the wonderful responses so far.

Cooper does the exact same thing, usually wish wash clothes or socks. He comes to me to tease me and then run off with it. I always thought that the "drop it" and giving him a treat would tell him his behavior is ok.

He also does this when we are playing ball. He'll only drop it if i give him a treat and tell him too. Smart 'lil dogs we have.

Tucker grew out of it. I just figured it was hopefully Roxy does.

Lucy does the same thing; anything she finds is game. If no one is paying attention; she will also parade around with it until she gets noticed.

Some of the things she has put in her mouth are fairly alarming. We have found that she will drop anything in exchange for a small, organic chicken treat.

I have this same problem, too! When we are beside the pool, she will look at me and bite off a piece of a flower and look at me again, and then run!! She will eat sticks, chunks of tree bark, you name it! I can't even coax her to trade for a cheerio treat!! I think what works best for me is to "try" and ignore her and she then loses interest pretty fast. Oh, and, our outside cat brings up dead birds and places them at our back door.

So, I really have to watch that, too.
