| ![]() I know this is a long shot because not every single yorkie owner on the planet is a member, but does anyone on here know of a yorkie owner that lives in the Chicago area that has a Yorkie named Max? By Chicago area, could be anywhere in the 'burbs. Max's owners are supposedly visiting in the St Louis area this weekend and left their Max in the care of a pet sitter/friend in my city. Max was reported missing to my agency last night, by the sitter. A few hours we received the report that Max had been struck by a vehicle. When we arrived on the scene Max appeared severely injured. The sitter arrived and took possession of Max and I dont know what the outcome was. One of my officers believed it was not good. I was wondering if anyone had heard any further. Or knows the family and even knows if they've been notified, let alone the outcome. I just know that if Max were mine, I would be so torn between grief and anger... sitters, in my mind are supposed to be so much more than vigilant since they have someone else's baby in their care that an event like this is unconscionable Anyway, if anyone does, by some miniscule chance know something, let me know, please.

| ![]() What surprised me is that this is a pretty good city for everyone reporting every stray animal they see. The sitter reported him missing about 2hrs before I got the report from the witness that saw him being struck by the vehicle. He was about 8-9 blocks from his original location. Couldn't believe that no one else saw him. When we called the sitter to notify him one of our officers was believing the animal would have to be put down, so evidently, at least in his mind, the situation was pretty dire. I just kinda wondered if maybe the owner was a member. If I ever hear an outcome, I'll post it.

| ![]() How sad. Personally, I hope Max's owner 'isn't' a member of YT...how awful it would be for them to read this thread. I know your intentions are good but...IMHO...I think a request for his owner to contact you through email or PM would have been better. That aside...I hope Max will be o.k. |

| ![]() I'm hopeful that Max's owners were notified immediately by the petsitter (a family friend). It wasn't a business that was watching him. I was posting the information trying to find the outcome, and if the sitter had not notified them, that too. I completely understand your concern. I tend to think in terms of information and not emotional consequences sometimes. Thank you for pointing that out.
