I have this same problem, too! When we are beside the pool, she will look at me and bite off a piece of a flower and look at me again, and then run!! She will eat sticks, chunks of tree bark, you name it! I can't even coax her to trade for a cheerio treat!! I think what works best for me is to "try" and ignore her and she then loses interest pretty fast. Oh, and, our outside cat brings up dead birds and places them at our back door.
So, I really have to watch that, too.
