| I'm sorry this happened, we've had this problem with carpet before. You could see it maybe you could use the carpet from a closet to patch the problem and them replace the carpet in the closet with something as close as you can find. This way no one would notice, any carpet installer can do this for you. As for your little one sounds like a crate or confinement to a bathroom would be your best bet. |

| We crate all of our dogs if we are going to be gone more than a few minutes. They don't mind it at all. This can sometimes be several hours and they have no ill effects. We leave the doors to the crates open when we are home and many times they go in and sleep on their own. You can also buy a very large crate that would fit a great dane and put a potty pad on one side and her bed on the other. That way she can potty while you are gone but still safe and sound and so is your carpet!

| I'm sorry about the carpet. For one so tiny, it sounds like she did quite a bit of damage. Could be separation anxiety. She loves you now and wants to always be with you. It makes me think she was trying to dig her way out to get to you.

Yorkie Yakker | So this is just a suggestion... on my xpen I use a crib sheet to put over it. I put my xpen in a square and use a crib but if you need it bigger which would be 6 panels I use a twin size sheet.. nice and snug.. hasnt escaped since |

| one more try ok, it seems to work when i zip the zipper up to the top so that she can't reach it without raising up on 2 legs. i don't think she can work with it for long enough to unzip it from there, but i only left her for a couple hours. we'll see thanks for all the suggestions. she did destroy a good bit of the carpet, but maybe i can have it repaired with some carpet from the closet.... good thing she's so durn cute |
