I just wanted to say after watching this go on all day long that people celebrate their dogs in different ways and normally when someone makes an unkind comment it is because of jealousy or insecurity! Normally those are the only 2 reasons people say stuff like that! And frankly if someone thinks putting a dress on a yorkie is over the top they would think I was stone cold certifiably insane because my best friend threw me a HUGE shower when I got Louis complete with linen napkins, floral arrangements, brunch and gifts! Why can't people just let other people express themselves and their life however it suits them if it's not hurting anybody else? I just think people are WAY too opinionated at times and if it's not someone's cup of tea that's fine but as was originally discussed when the OP brought it up there is no reason to make fun of or be snide about what someone else chooses to do! It's just not cool! And frankly, we are celebrating our dogs and why that wouldn't tickle someone to see in this day and age of full to the brim rescues and shelters, BYBs and puppymills is beyond me! It's one less dog in the world who is being mistreated! That should be worth encouraging and not grounds for a snide comment...JMO.

And I am TOTALLY JEALOUS... you have the best friend EVER! I was recently talking about getting a third (at some point in the future) and my friends were like "dont you have enough animals?" I dont have one friend who is an animal lover or even understands my love/devotion to my animals... when I took Chloe to specialist after specialist when she was a puppy they were like "shes just a dog!"

Hmmm... maybe I should move to Virginia...

It is NOT jealousy! Maybe if someone sees a cute doggie walking down the street and cannot afford said dog, it may be jealousy and that may cause a snide comment, IF they were that type of person........but a snide comment due to a DRESS ON A DOG has nothing to do with jealousy!


I can get a dress for my dog for ten dollars at the pet store.

I'm sure anyone can.


I've heard plenty of snide comments about the size of my Yorkie..... "My dog has bigger POO that than dog".... "What's the point of that dog, you can't teach it tricks!"....."Oh, you would have a FROO FROO dog like THAT!"..... many many more, I've heard them all.

When I posted a picture of my Yorkie with a scarf on her on facebook I had almost two dozen coments of people making fun of me for dressing up my dog....and no, it was not jealousy, it was making fun of people that have this type of dog and dress it up.

There is a running societal joke about it. I'm not saying it is right, I've stated multiple times it is WRONG and no one should make fun of your dog choices!!!! I love my dog more than life itself and she has tons of sweaters and scarves...I just personally find dresses silly. Never would I see someone who has a dog in a dress and insult, I'd probably run over, bend down and gush over how adorable that dog is!

Most people would make fun of this dog owner behind their back. For anyone who doesn't realize it's a running joke about people who dress up their dogs.....well, I'm sorry I even said anything.



This was never meant to turn so ugly.

It just got uglier and uglier.........Eye rolling and eye rolling......Nobody wanted to see what I was trying to say because it seems everyone was taking it personally!


DON'T! It's YOUR YORKIE!!!!! It's no one's place to judge you and it's sad that everyone does, but the fact of the matter is, everyone *does* judge.......................and no, it is not jealousy or insecurity. That is just absurd! Insecure about WHAT!? Oyyyyy......Out of control. I really did try to get my original point across. I really promise I did.
