				 | The only time I use plastic, and of course a plastic dog water bottle is at a dog show....I've broken too many glass water bottles.

				 | I bought a couple cute SS bowls from Petsmart that have an iron looking holder... One bowl says "Food" and the other says "Water". They come in a variety of colors and sizes. Top Paw® Decorative Iron Elevated Double Diners - Bowls - Bowls & Feeders - PetSmart |

One of the best Maltese breeders, no longer breeds, but is a judge.....still makes sure that her Maltese receive plenty of sunshine. Even in the coldest weather, if the sun is shining, outside they go on the deck.

				 | The plastic can cause contact dermatitis. We use Pyrex. Made in the USA... We had a problem with some ceramic bowls (from China) retaining a smell (the smell of what, we do not know). Anyway, not even bleach would take it out. So in the trash they went.

				 | Chloe had a wart as a puppy and I read that it could be caused by plastic dishes... dont know if its really true or not but I switched to SS to be safe and there have been no more warts.

I've been told that if you add kelp to their diet it will darken their pigmentation that they make be lacking due to sun. I've never tried it though.

				 | I have always used stainless steel bowls. Plastics can have long term ill effects, but at the same time can retain bacteria as they are a porous surface. Ceramic is also porous underneath the glaze - so any tiny break in the glaze can cause bacterias to be withheld in them. |
