Oh I am far from PC..HAHA.. I have no problem with whatever one wants to call them..

But the word lazy was used in a general term putting anyone breeding mixes in the lazy category. Doesn't matter what one meant, it is a very derogatory word no matter how you use it it means the same.

I have a problem with ANYONE breeding for profit and have my own thoughts about them.

Oh I agree too, but like you said it seems she posts only on certain threads and tries to stir the pot by writing things she knows will cause others to react. And, in a lot of cases she walks away after she's accomplished what she set ou to do. E.

Very nicely stated. I was trying to figure out a way to put this into words, but you've done it perfectly.

The point, was missed, which seems to be pretty typical when this topic comes up. The point was discouraging supporting unethical breeders, not degrading mutts. But I'm thinking that honestly, this was just one more oportunity for people to stir up controversy.

You are absolutely right....and you see members here speaking up against supporting them all the time too. An unethical breeder is an unethical breeder, regardless to what breed or combination of breeds they are dealing with.

What actual breed genetic health test is done from mix breeding by BYB's? Please don't mention a common vet check. They do not pay for the proper testing.

Where did I say that BYB's did testing?

I said "there are many breeders of "mixed" breeds who actually test their dogs, I know many who do."

And if you would like the list of tests I can give you that. But they are pretty much the same testing done purebreds done by responsible breeders.

Not sure what else to call someone who makes money off of the backs of the pups.

If they don't work a real job and rely on the pups for their income, I call it lazy. There are MANY ways to make a living.

Thank God I was raised to believe in hard work. My grandmother raised her five children on her own (husband was killed in an accident) during the depression. Busted her butt to keep her 67 acre farm....took in laundry, ironing, alterations. Baked, cooked, sewed clothes, made quilts....did what she could...but did not ever resort to breeding which is often seen on farms. She raised her children to respect and love all animals and they did the same with their children. I am grateful that I came from that family.

Exactly! Both you and Donna have beautiful dog and so where are all of these Yorkies coming from that are being bred and sold as Designer dogs? Cr@p breeders who don't give a hoot where their dogs go, what is done with them, who breeds them for what purposes! To argue that designer dogs should be bred because there is a market it doing nothing but adding to the problems for all of the millers and Byers selling MUTTS at outrageous prices and filling the shelters and rescues in this country! To jump on the "you people are so rude" bandwagon because of VALID evidence of what types of dogs are being bred is well............RUDE and uninformed as to the reasons that we all feel this way!

Which is what is the saddest of all. People are using the "orkie" to put $$$$$ in their pocket, let's face it "orkie" sells, and untimately, it IS the Yorkie that suffers most, IMO. Why wouldn't the people of a Yorkie forum be upset about that, and how could you expect them to change their opinion on mixed breeds when it is their (their meant as a whole per the forum) breed that has suffered among the most in this "designer" horror.

Sorry, but by valid definition, the term mutt is accurate when used to refer to any mixed breed dog. If use of the term offends people, then that is their own personal issue to deal with.
