This site is full of yorkie lovers who only want the best for their babies and their breed. I hope you'll stick around and see how great this place really is. I can tell how much you care about Louis and Paris, and your precious new little one, Napoleon.

I agree... No one is trying to attack you and I hope you dont feel that way! Everyone here is very outgoing and helpful! They all have their own opinion and we are just trying to get you all the information we can about your thread.

Either way your dogs are all beautiful and you can tell that they are all very much loved! Congrats on the new fur baby!

You will find this forum to be very informative, as well as the members here have an abundance of passion for the Yorkshire breed. Please stick around for a while and do some research. Biewers are not recognized by AKC. Biewers are a breed which orignated in Germany and the pedigree on both sides will trace back to the original breeding pair Fu Fu and Darling Friedheck.

The gold coloring is not the result of a "gene" per se. It is the result of a gene mutation.

Would that then mean that the F1 is a mixed breed?

Okay. As of this point I would prefer to stop talking about super technical yorkie jargon! All I know is I have 3 of the most beautiful yorkies on the planet (and I realize I am biased) 2 of which no matter how you cut it are rare. Other than those facts I'm not really concerned with or interested in discussing anything else! I really appreciate those of you who have welcomed me to yorkie talk and complimented my dogs. If you want to talk about the fun stuff I'm all for it but other than that I would prefer that the super technical stuff that no one really cares about stop being discussed at this point! Thanks and hope to see you around yorkie talk! :-)

Louis is an M1 gold gene carrier! His mom was blue and gold and his dad was solid gold. Louis is Napoleon's dad...he is AKC registered.

Paris is an F1 biewer gold and white gene carrier. Her dad was a golden/white biewer who was AKC registered. Her mom was a solid gold yorkie who was CKC registered. When duchess had her puppies the AKC would not let them be registered with them because at the time they did not view biewers as full bred yorkies like they do now and also would not let the litter be registered with them because duchess was CKC registered. So they had to be registered with highbred as designer. Napoleon (who is Paris and Louis' baby boy is an F1 gold and white biewer. As you can see by this highly confusing explaination none of my dogs are "designer" or mixed breeds...they are full bred yorkies. Hope that clears up any confusion and I will be editing that in my description!

I think you mean "Hybrid" which means "mixed breed". CKC will register mix breeds.

I'm glad you're here to make friends, we're all her for that! But... there some of us here that are super nerdy (GUILTY!!) and we love to discuss genetics, disease, and anything else technical that can help us understand our precious babies. Especially when the experienced breeders posts. I'm such a dork that I sit here for hours just reading up on health, socialization, genetic discussions, and what to look out for when looking for a good breeder (even though I already have my precious furbutt). So sorry if we took over your thread but I saw this as an opportunity to learn something new as I'd never heard of a designer yorkie. One last question if you don't mind. What CKC registry is it? Canadian or Continental?

Some are of the mind that biewers are yorkies, as their full name indicates..."Biewer Yorkshire Terrier a la Pom Pom." Another school of thought believes they are a different breed. As bchgirl said, it depends on who you ask.

And btw...if this is what this site is about I'm totally done. My breeder has been absolutely amazing to me. She has allowed me to call her at 3am many times with questions, she has helped me through every single aspect of owning a yorkie and not only that she has become my lifelong friend who I didn't know prior to owning Louis. So since you do not know her AT ALL I would advise that you take your "ethical" judgements somewhere else. I have also had 4 friends who have purchased yorkies from Terri who have all found the same type of premier service through her that I received. No where in my thread did I ask for advice or clarification on my dogs. Maybe you should wait to give your advice until you are asked. I look forward to creating relationships with people who are not judgemental, are kind, welcoming and do not attack other people the first day they join! I will remember this day and make sure that I am welcoming to other people who join this site. Wow.

Sorry, but you're about to find out the YT members love to talk about EVERYTHING to do with yorkies.....even the technical, over-my-head type of stuff.

My crew consists of 4 traditional yorkies and 2 biewers, and I love learning whatever I can about them - especially the biewers because that is all still fairly new to me.

I'm grateful to all the knowlegeable people on here who are willing to educate people like me.
