Well, I never did either, but after considering their comfort, and how much they love to go with us, I think a stroller makes them much happier. They love to get in it and snuggle together for a nap. They still get on the ground and play, but when they are trying to rest, that is when people seem to always want to come up and pet them. In the stoller, with the mesh zipped, they can have their rest time in peace. LOL

I never thought I would own one, nor did my boys' other caretaker (my senior citizen father), but when we added the second dog we both decided the stroller was a good idea. | |

| Donating YT 11K Club Member | Hey girl We have the Jeep wrangler and I love it but I do admit most of the year it sits in the closet. BUT I do put good use to it in the summers during street fairs, etc when i take more than 1 dog and I don't want them getting stepped on in the street. Since you live in L.I. I think you could put good use to it but cause you'll only have 1 dog I don't think it will be THAT necessary but it's always good to have. I love the jeep wrangler btw.

I think that you are all missing the point in that those of us who have strollers are not just using them to take our dogs around in. The dogs still walk and use their 4 legs but there are times, especially if you have more than 1, that having them contained and safe within a stroller for instance, is a much better thing. For instance, we went trick or treating with the neighborhood kids this past year. It was kinda chilly and it was a little chaotic so once it got dark and really chilly, it was nice to put them in the stroller to walk back home. I didn't have to worry about them being too cold or lagging behind; and in my case, Hot Rod gets spooked walking in the dark so half the time I wind up carrying him anyway. Another time that I used to stroller was when I stopped by petsmart and I was by myself with both of them. I was glad that I had the stroller in the car because when I got there, there were probably 20 other dogs there and about 50 people in the store. I was glad that I didn't have to try and control 2 small yorkies in that mess as well as try and carry my purchases. Shoot, we walk anywhere from 2 -3 miles a day, depending on weather in my neighborhood alone! By no means do we use the stroller in place of walking or exercising. And I don't think that anyone else who has a stroller does either.

| I understand ppls concern about the dog getting exercise... and that it has 4 legs... but... so do kids, and they have strollers. The reason for a stroller is not so you dont have to exercise them... Of course you can take them for walks and such, Roxy walks all around like crazy... but we keep the stroller in the back of the car for several reasons.1. I dont trust other pet owners. When there are other very large dogs around and you never know when one of them will get out of control or some idiot will think his dog at the park doesnt need a leash cause "he usually stays near him all the time!" 2. Lots of children. Anytime there are lots of kids, there are lots of bounding feet all around. 3. The weather is VERY hot, it makes for great shade, and Roxy's poor little pads cant handle the hot cement. People need to be mindful of their dogs poor little feet too, you have shoes, maybe your dog will wear them, but Roxy wont, she hates them... I've tried. 4. Roxy loves going places, and I know for a fact when she is here, she isnt as happy and isnt getting as much exercise. She gets to walk around for a bit, and when she is panting and hot, I can put her in her stroller to get out of the heat and get a drink... when it starts raining, which has happened to me many times, I can put her in her stroller and it has a waterproof liner you can put over it, and she stays nice and dry. 5. You never know when the guy walking down the road might grab the dog AND the leash out of your hands. It may not be likely, but just cause its not likely, doesnt mean its NOT possible. So many Yorkies are stolen... if my baby was grabbed Id think... "God, why didnt I do something else?"... I feel like she is much more safe in there with the leash and the stroller zipper shut. Having a stroller doesnt mean you give up walking... lol, they still get walked just as often, just use it when its called for. So, basically, I dont understand why ppl would think its ridiculous if it makes your baby safer... It is ridiculous to not take every precaution to protect them! If we say we love them like we love our children, then we should act like it. That means giving them the right diet, the right exercise, the right treatment... AND the right protection. Do what you think is in the best interest of your baby, not for the way you think other ppl will percieve you, cause when they are saying some jerks dog got their dog (God forbid), you can think... "Man, I am glad I got that stroller."... thats what I think at least when I hear about it on the news. I hope you go by your instincts and not by what ppl will think of it. We may only use it twice a year... but when we do, its well worth it...

| Missing Yoshi Everyday! Donating Member | i don't use my for normal daily works because they too need their exercise....but however there are situations where a stroller would come in handy.... for instance we have this annual pet expo here ... and there are tons and tons of dogs....and being an pet expo i enjoy taking my Yorkie there but because of not knowing what all those other dogs may carry as in sickness or whatever or how they act around other animals and for as crowded as it is there...i would not like my Yorkies to get hurt! or for big meetups they work great also! btw the one that i have is this one http://cgi.ebay.com/Dog-Stroller-Pet...item2c531b631e i love the jogging type stroller for they get around easier...hehe

I agree completely... I also love going to Pet Expos. They have one every year. I love taking Roxy, and she loves going, but I am always leary of the other owners and how well they take care of their babies. This is my stroller... Roxy's Pink Stroller (That is not me or Roxy... lol, but its the same stroller lol) I am thinking about getting the 3 wheel one as well... if I can find it in pink... lol

| And smelling things too! Smell is a dog's strongest sense. Being outdoors is very stimulating -- this is why during my dog's recuperation from his neuter, I carried him on our daily trek. I didn't just keep him home. We were laughed at and many people asked, "Doesn't he have legs?" |
