| I feel like dying. My heart goes out to all that have dealt with this before me. I am crushed. Matise was diagnosed with a liver shunt today. I just don't know what to say. I feel like I am dying. It all started with a couple of seizure like episodes so we took him to the vet and they drew blood but it all came back normal but he said we should do a bile acid test so we did and the results were a shunt. We will probably be speaking with a couple of different surgeons on Monday and then he will probably have surgery as soon as possible. And of course the cost, it doesn't matter we will pay it but but it is alot. I am so upset but I am trying to be strong for Matise but all I want to do is curl up in a ball. I just want everything to be ok and for him to be healthy and happy. I am just at a total loss for what to do or say. I just can't stop crying. Oh, why is this happening. I am so sorry for anyone who has went through this before it is so awful. I am so sorry for the sadness of this thread but I just needed to talk about it with people that would understand. Thanks for listening.

| Oh, I'm so sorry. There are other girls on here and their little doggies have had the surgery and were better than when they were new afterward. Please don't be soooo upset. I know you love your baby to pieces, but outside the expense and your little one having to go through all of that, there really is a reason to be very optimistic about it. I know you're scared, though and that is totally normal. Again, I'm sorry. Just give him lots of hugs and kisses from us and know that if you need anything we are here even if it is just to talk. OK?

| Oh, what a nightmare for you! My thoughts and prayers are with you. I hear there are amazing things they can do for liver shunts these days. I hope you find a gifted surgeon and everything will be ok.

| I can only imagine how you are feeling. Luckily, they found out what was wrong with him and now they can make him good as new. I know they are like our babies and as parents we get sick inside when something happens to them. Hang in there and give your little one lots of hugs and kisses. You're in our thoughts and prayers.

| That is my worst nightmare. I can't imagine how you are feeling. Just know that everyone here has you and your furbaby in their prayers. After so many pets being diagnosed with Liver Shunts I decided to get both pets tested. I have been waiting for Cookie's results. Results were suppose to be in Tuesday. I've called like 6 times since then. Today the vet's office tells me that the results were not correct and the lab was retesting . I am going nuts with worry. These furbabies are our world. It's great have the support of so many caring people. Hugs and kisses for you and your furbaby. Genie |
