| Omg!!!! I just meet a puppy mill today!! I was at a flea market in houston today and they had many people selling puppies there. (very sad). One of the ladies was very picky about not touching her babies so I looked a little harder at her paperwork, then came home and googled her. She has 9 different breeds and says on her website she has a new litter of each breed EVERY month! That has to be a lot of dogs! I was very disappointed with her yorkies and could finally see what people were saying about poor breeding, they barely resembled my babies. The whole thing is sad and disturbing. |

| How disgusting! That would have been a great opportunity for you to educate the people around you looking at her dogs. Did you talk to anyone while you were there? what's the name of the "breeder" so no one on here will make the mistake of buying from her.

| You are spot on. Puppy mills are beyond inhumane. Perhaps if the courts subjected the responsible parties to the same treatment that their animals receive, then maybe things would be different. |

| The "breeder" was Bows and toes out of east texas, why they go to houston is odd to me but I guess because there didnt seem to be anyone monitoring them. Today was a pretty cold day for us, my blackberry said it was 53 degrees. I wouldnt have brought puppies out but they did have some space heaters my husband called turtles there. I talked my neighbor out of buying a dorky while we were there but I didnt talk to many people, Im not very assertive and I wasnt 100% I was right while there. I feel so bad for the puppies and another feeling I dont quite know how to explain, kinda like Im contaminated or exposed somehow. Like the wrongness has rubbed on me. |

| I live in a puppy mill hotbed, and have been to a dog auction...if you want to know depressing and sad, that is it. That auction is my driving force behind why people should NEVER buy from a pet store. The dogs look all cute and such at a pet store, but what they don't see is the 5 dogs stuck in a cage ready to be sold and a female dog being described as a good mother and can welp her own litters....sad sad sad. My bf finally made us leave as he wasn't able to handle it at all.... This same auction was selling heaters, food bowls for cages, and other things that if you actually love your dog you would never need. I just wish I would have had the guts to take pictures or video (they took away all cameras they saw or made you delete them in front of them) That was about 2 years ago and the images are still seared in my mind.... |

| I don't understand why flea markets even allow this! There is a big flea market near me and they don't allow the people to sell food unless it's individually wrapped, but they let them sell puppies! They don't know where these puppies come from, if they are sick, etc... Think about all the people that touch them while in there! IMO, there isn't a good breeder that would be selling at a flea market!

| OMGosh I dont see how people can honestly breed that many dogs. Because with that many dogs you cant possibly keep them in the house! i just dont understand why people do that.! ANY Dog should be a PET & only a pet before a breeder. I breed yorkies, but they are pets first and formost! That saddens me so much to see how people can hurt things that cant even speak up for themselves! I guess you would feed & water them, but you can't really love them, like they should be loved.

| This is something I don't understand!!! Where are the rights for the animals ?! I don't know a big lot about the specs on puppy mills...I do know they are not right though!!!!! Are puppy mills actually legal??!! I live in Ontario, and when I see puppies at the pet store, they are wayyyy overpriced! I don't get it either....people will buy a puppy from there at 2000.00 plus tax....when I know for sure that if they researched enough they would find a healthy little puppy from a good home for less than that!!! That's how I done it for Lucky..... Pet store puppys don't look at all healthy and they will tell you that they are maybe a couple of mths old....When in reality they are much older!! One girl was talking with an intrested woman and said that the Yorkie was full breed and 10 weeks old!!! I had to speak up and say that mine was a yr old and less than half that size !!!! My husband hates going there with me....lol He says that one day they are gonna tell me to leave the store......ohhh well!!
