| Party Yorkies Hello, my name is Barb, and I'm new to YT. We have 3 adult Yorkies, 3 babies that are 8 weeks old, and one female that is 16 weeks old. Just love the little puppies running around. Does everyone else do the "shuffle" walk -- you know shuffle your feet so you don't step on the little ones? I've been wanting a Biewer Yorkie, but seems like they are waaaay out of our budget range. Do the Party Yorkies always run just as high? Like from $1000.00 and up for full registration? A breeder told me that Party Yorkies aren't true Yorkies, is this true? Are they AKC registered or not? They are so pretty! Barb |

| Welcome! Partis are true yorkies they are just out of the standard because of their color. In most cases partis are higher priced than biewers. Thats what Ive found to be the case anyway. They are beautiful though I agree

| So the Partis can be registered with the AKC ? I love my regular Yorkies, so guess I'll stick with them. Thanks for the info. |

Visit CYTC...Our Mission for all the information. And yes they are expensive, and can be even more expensive than the Biewer because they are AKC and Biewers are not.

A yorkie can be what is considered a carrier, that is a traditionally marked yorkie that was produced from parti lines. A carrier, bred back to a parti or another carrier can produce parti pups. And yes, parti pups are much more expensive than a Biewer, which is considered a separate breed but not recognized by AKC . Yes, I have have been doing the yorkie shuffle walk for years. I have a herd of yorkies following me everywhere. I can't go anywhere in a hurry in this house.

Parti's are normally higher in price but are coming down. You can find alot of good info explaining the Parti Yorkies at the Parti Yorkshire Terrier Club Home If the full Partis are out of your price range then you can start out with the carriers to get you started. Just be sure to do your research about the breed and how to choose a good breeder.

| I just met a breeder the other day that said Parti Yorkies were "NEVER" registered by AKC. B/c I told her I was thinking of buying one. She said if you fo it won't be registered. I told her "YES" it will! And then we kind of argued that. I told her of all the people on here and that quite a few of you have them and they are registered AKC and she said they must have just started registering them b/c she had a friend that was breeding for many years and could never register hers. I said well maybe they were biewer's. She said no. As far as I know and to my understanding they have always been registered. Am I right? It's just they can't be shown in the AKC. And there's a lot more process to get them registered; like sending in pictures and stuff. It's not like traditional you mark the papers send in the money and you get the AKC paper in the mail.

Parti's born prior to being registered were registered as blue/ gold. Others were given away or killed at birth. Studies were done in 1999 for 18 months where AKC conduct DNA studies of 42 littler sires and dams..Born at Nikko’s kennel. After 18 months the DNA studies was completed to the satisfaction of AKC AKC stating that after a study of the Yorkshire History and the DNA of the dogs involved in the study they were satisfied that the color can be produced in otherwise normal litters of Yorkshire Terriers The dogs were allowed to be registered as Parti color with a color code 014. Today when you register a Parti colored dog, you do have to send in 4 pictures and use the color code of 014. No they can't be shown through AKC but they can be shown through other clubs. | Wow, lots of great info from everyone, thank you so much. I didn't realize that you had to register then differently, wonder why that is? I see so many pics of all your Party Yorkies, and they are all so pretty. If'n I had enough money, I would get a Biewer and a Party!!! But, I don't. You know what they say . . . "If wishes were horses, beggers would ride!" I'd be riding like crazy!!! Barb |
