I just love floppy ears so much. I wont be showing Alfie or breeding him. He is my beloved pet and his floppy ears give him his character. if his ears stand up then they stand up. We ALL love our yorkies, big ears, small ears, stand up ears, floppy ears, full tail, half tail. We LOVE our yorkies.

I don't think anyone is saying that floppy ears are "bad". I think its a personal preference and some prefer the stand up as apposed to the floppy... If Prince Henry had floppy ears I would prefer them to stand up but would luv him either way. Again just a personal preference...

You are exactly right! I love your response and I am the same way, I will love my yorkies regaurdless... I prefer the stand up but some prefer the floppy... Its all good!

oh, i totally agree and understand that, this just seems to be a common post that people have.....again, like i said, i wasnt trying to be harsh at all.....

No one is saying that floppy eared yorkies are not cute. It is just a flaw, all yorkies ears are to be erect. It is not personal preference as you can't purchase a yorkie solely on floppy ears, ears remain floppy for many reasons. Therefore if you have a floppy eared yorkie although very cute and loved it is just a flaw.

I love floppy ears too! Callie has floppy ears and I love them!!!!

A flaw if you showing your dog maybe but I dont see my baby as flawed at all and I hate for it to be said like that.

All breeds have standards regaurdless if they are shown or not so by saying it is a flaw doesnt mean that we are saying your puppy is less special but that they do not met the standard for that breed. YORKIES ears are suppose to stand errect by BREED STANDARD is all we r saying.

Im new to this site, but my lil yorkie is 5 months old, and until just now, only one of his ears would stand up...It was very cute. we thought it gave him character...Now they are both standing straight up..It dosent matter though..We love him either way..I wouldnt call it a flaw...It is what it is...lol

Yeah but flaw sounds so awful. My baby is very much not breed standard yet perfect and unflawed in everyway. I feel like the word flawed means somethings wrong with her and by no means is anything wrong with her in her mommys eyes

I dont think there is a tiff I think everyone is just discussing ears and thats what this board is for discussing.

The standards are flawed. Adjusting the standards might be more humane than adjusting our ears.
