HAHA! Ann, you are so funny. He seems to be the lapdog type so he probably wouldn't mind being in a purse for a few minutes...

Maybe this is stupid, but I just feel like if that woman had other dogs on her list then she shouldn't get Danny! She can get another dog. There were some cute pommies there, she can have one of those. I only want Danny, and that's it!

There are a few things that make me optimistic that they might choose us:

1. We have Jimi, a yorkie playmate for him. How perfect is that!

2. My boyfriend was on the application and he listed all of the yorkie experience he has had. He has grown up with his parents' multiple yorkies all of his life. In my opinion, experience with small breeds is very important!

3. The other woman had small children! AND we turned in our application first.. SCORE lol

I am so anxious! 4 days!? What am I gonna do? lol

What if you write a letter and drop it off...do you have time?

Letters can be so powerful and you're a great writer! Think of the paper about dog food you did for your prof. and all the thought it provoked.

I really hope you get him - he's adorable! I have experience adopting from a cocker spaniel rescue and can say as much as I wanted my girl, I knew my heart was in the right place and had a good feeling about getting her. I feel the same about you and "Danny". Your home sounds like a perfect match for him, so how could they not grant you the adoption? We will keep fingers and paws crossed over here for you!

Well the shelter told me I had to give them Jimi's medical records and that I could fax them in or bring them (whichever is easiest). Of course I chose to bring them in, so I could see Danny again. I held him for over an hour. All the women that work at the shelter kept saying how much he likes me and how I should get him..

Apparently in the first 2 days of submitting the application you get a call back if you are even considered. If you are, then you have to bring in your other dog for a meet-and-greet. Then, they consider the remaining applications for 2 more days. Sooo.. if they consider me I will get a phone call tomorrow or Thursday and then I will bring Jimi in!

I hope they call me back! I think if it was up to Danny he'd go home with me. He kept kissing me and laid on my lap the whole time! I am in love!

On another note, I feel so bad for the way they treat the animals sometimes in those shelters. They put a collar on him, not a harness and they were dragging him around. Ugh, made me sick to my stomach. And one of the people working there grabbed him by the skin on his neck to put him back in his cage. I want to get that baby out of there and with me!

I hope you get him. I volunteer at a shelter in Illinois and I know the screening process is pretty strict, but I think that with no small children, a yorkie owner, your BF having experience that you would be a perfect adoption candidate. I would go again tomorrow and let them see how dedicated you are to getting him and talk to the adoption counselor if possible. They really like to know that you take your current dog to the vets (some don't), you have time for the dog and that you have never given a dog up without a good reason. Just some things I have heard when they are interviewing prospective adopters where I volunteer. Keeping my fingers crossed.

How do you think your other yorkie will be with a new friend? I think that that will be the ultimate test , to see how well the both of them get along .
I have 2 little females. My Suzi , is my yorkie , she will be 2 in March. My baby is a shih tzu , and won't be 1 until the end of APril .The pup is smaller then my yorkie .
The two of them have had their aggessive moments . I found out later from the vet that the opposite sex of dogs get along better. Otherwise they need to be fixed . Males will fight too . Just make certain they are neutered . they will get along better .
I sure hope you get this little fellow. He is so handsome. SOunds like a perfect home for him, to join your family .
