| Actually NO. I would much rather learn from people that have been studying dogs their entire life and have PHD's in these areas. The top vet schools do not endorse him either....this is a man who has made a BIG living off of instant gratification on a tv set. While I am not opposed to everything he has done I find most people who love him have not studied any of the other positive trainers, nor have they had books by other trainers, nor have they had a problem dog, nor have they gone to positive trainers...most of it is sitting in front of a tv set.

Just to clarify - lots of positive behavior dog trainers also disagree with his methods so it is not just teachers. BTW I'm sure alot of teachers would disagree with your characterization of them.

I dont condemn pitbulls or any other large breed. I think it is downright dumb to put yorkies in households with large dogs with huge jaws. Sorry, but that is my opinion and I stand by it. And, I just dont like Cesar and his methods, or his self righteousness or his show. Enough said!

How many of these teachers work with dogs as aggressive as he does? Many would just say put them down. I'm a R+ trainer and I what Cesar does is mostly just a modified version of NILIF. His connection or innate understanding of dogs can't really be quantified so it's hard for most people with PHDs to figure it out. FWIW my Ivy league educated Vet loves Cesar.

| I heard it only on this board. Maybe he does not have a yorkie! That would take away one of the thumbs down I gave him if it is a myth...

Why do all pitbulls naturally want to kill yorkies? Maybe most are not trained correctly.

| I like Cesar. Some of his methods can be controversial but he deals with difficult dogs sometimes. I like Victoria also but I feel you can learn from both of them

I had many Yorkies come through rescue that had issues...Cesars methods would have sent them over the bend and I would have been bitten many times. I have watched his shows and he fixes dogs in 30 minutes? I don't believe so. Working with animals that have been abused or have serious issues is never a quick fix. I think one of the biggest things that turned me off was in his first book and it was towards they end where it talked about excercising his dogs - all his pittbulls and I finally figured out he was running his dogs about 6 hours a day....I believe excercise is good but not in that amount for a yorkie and I am not even sure for a pittbull. I find most people who like him have never had a problem dog nor understand what some of his methods could do to a dog that has issues.

| I had conniption fits when my daughter wanted to move back home - with her pitty. But Nitro's nearly 14 years old; he was bred back when Pits were still pets, not bred to be killers. She got him when she still had to bottle feed him; he's the sweetest, most temperate dog you could ever hope to meet. When I got the pups, he just loved on them. He snuggled with them, licked them, let them hang off his cheeks with their sharp little puppy teeth. I may have doubts with younger pitties, but Old Bones is a good dog, and he will be greatly missed when he crosses the Bridge. |

| Agree that Vets are not qualified trainers , just addressing your point since you brought it up. |

If you think he would run a yorkie for 6 hours then you don't get his methods. He wouldn't treat a yorkie the same way he would treat a pitbull. Most people are not qualified to uses his methods. The show clearly states this in the beginning of each episode.
