I never thought Cesar Millan would adopt a Yorkie. Well, I am glad he adopted a Yorkie. I know that this lucky dog will have a great home.

My impression from watching the show is that the dogs are mingling together throughout the day, but I think there is staff and/or Cesar there. Then when it's sun down, he brings the little ones indoors. I'm not sure what he does with the larger dogs at that point, but I have seen all the tiny dogs in their crates/beds indoors. I would bet that his pack is never left unsupervised because there are almost always dogs there that are being rehabilitated.

Yep! I've seen lots of times where the smaller dogs are in a separate gated off section from the larger dogs. You always see staff working there, too. And actually, the woman who owned the "evil" Chi named NuNu (very first DW episode) now works as part of his staff! I don't know if you saw that episode.

Yep, they're always separated when no one's there to supervise.

And Tina (NuNu's owner) doesn't work for him anymore. She started her own business walking dogs.

I know or an incident where one yorkie killed another. they got into a fight the owner was gone and they fought to the death.

Imagine how horrible, to come home to that.
That would be horrible. I think really any dog killing another dog is horrible no matter what breed even if it where a pit. I'm am scared of them but I dont want them killed off or anything like that.

WOW
I get SO ANGRY at this type of stereotypical response. That is the basic type of thing that I heard when I was looking for my Yorkie. "Oh No WAY!! You have Greyhounds!! They kill everything small and fuzzy!!"

Ahh, ya, whatever!!

People need to do their research before sticking their foot in their mouth.

Let me say this for some of you all real slow... **sorry not all** just a figure of speech

D*O*G*S* LIKE PEOPLE ALL HAVE DIFFERENT PERSONALITIES!! Some are mean, all breeds, just like races, have a lot of problems, just some are worse than others...***OH MY** I just saw a white person with a bald head..I know he is with the skin heads..** Please...just makes me ashamed to think that someone that is into their dogs and care enough about their dogs to belong to a forum, about their dog, would be so closed minded.

I have Greyhounds. My three littles are in a crate when I leave. NOT because I worry about the greyhounds getting them, I worry about the owls and coyotes.

Believe me, the littles keep the Greys in line.

About Cesar: He is a basic good trainer. But his method of training is more for the bully breeds. I would be hard pressed to out a Grey in a submissive back roll. The grey would be emotionally scared for life. They are just to gentle for that. Remember that you have to take into consideration that not all of anyones methods are for every situation. You have to use some uhhnghum,**throat clear** common sense.

Good points. The only time I have ever seen him put them on their backs is when they are so out of control that they won't respond to his corrections. And then it is just to calm them, not to dominate them.

I do not believe there is only one right way to do something. I use his corrections on my dogs and it works.

Wow I get so angry when people think just because I am scared of and would keep my yorkie away from a pitbull makes me not have done research. Hmmm guess all those places who are out lawing pitbulls havent done there research either.

Seriously. Sorry that you cant see that I am doing what I think is best for my dog and me. There are several people on this board who feel the same way about pitbulls! Its not cuz omg all pitbulls are evil and mean. Its because pitbulls have strong jaws and even when playing can really injure a smaller dog by even a play bite. Dogs nip when playing sometimes and a big dog nip on a little dog is going to be worse then a big dog nip on a big dog.

How about a little dog nip on a big dog? I had a cocker spaniel tear my Rottweiler/Black Lab's back leg APART 14 yrs ago resulting in an 1,800 dollar surgery. Her leg never was the same. Ya know...that woman didn't even apologize for what her dog did? All my dog was doing was walking through the park on leash, her's was off leash and decided to attack for no reason.

I really think that we have to be cautious of ALL unfamiliar dogs around our pets. You can't just say "only big dogs", or "only pitbulls". I went to pet a 3 lb yorkie at my son's school the other day. That dog bit me 10 times in about 3 seconds flat. Yes, he did break the skin. If you don't know a dog and it's temperament, be careful!

I've known one pitbull personally in my life. If any pit should have been unruly, it would have been that one. It's owners were very irresponsible and didn't take very good care of him (or themselves), BUT that dog was the sweetest little lovey dove ever. He LOVED people, especially children, and lived with me for a few months. At that time I owned a bird, a lizard, a hedgehog, a cat, and 2 dogs. He was great!

I am not sure where my reply went, I hope I didn't just miss it.

I think that you are being very judgmental. Sounds like a form of segregation.

I have to watch my Jack Russell so she does not hurt the Greys. JR's are also known as being so hyper. I have nothing but great things to say about this breed, when there was so much negativity on them not so many years ago. Her only problem is she is TOO SMART!!

Many years ago: about 25, Cocker Spaniels were known for being the the worst dog bitters. They at the time put it off to the ratio of Cockers that were owned as pets. Wonder what the ratio of pittys as pets is compared with the bite ratio?

I am not in any way saying that ALL pittys are bad. Sure just like any breed there are bad and GOOD!

If you took about half of the Yorkies and left them outside, all the time, unsocialized, they might end up in as bad of mental shape as the pittys!

But because of the PRICE of a good Yorkie, most will take better care of them than that. Yorkies are not a dime a dozen at the pound like the pitty...

If you are "scared" when you meet one: THEY WILL SENSE IT!

All I ask as a DOG LOVER, is that you refrain from making blanket statements. How many pittys have you come in contact with that you can say that you would never have that dangerous dog? How many pittys have bitten you/yours? That was the problem that I had with the greyhounds. NO!!!! My Greys do not eat anything little and fuzzy...They all get along well. The littles love them and they love the littles.

Am I the alpha? No, but I am in charge. I have 11 dogs around here at any given time. I have to be in charge.

Check in the actual biting force of a German Shepherd. Last I read, their jaw force was more than the pitty.

I will look and see if I can find that research.

I found one:
Does Your Dog Bite? I am sure that if we looked we could find some on any dog that we want to "ban".
