I agree! That have more health problems the smaller they have!! People who want yorkie the size of a teaspoon should just go buy a hamster! I love my babies to be 5 pounds. I want them to be happy and healthy.

Same thing with APRI, and I'm sure there's others I am forgetting. yes, ACA has been around for a long time, but it is b/c along time ago, certain breeders were not up to par according to the AKC so they formed their OWN registry. That is basically like, if I get kicked out of a mother club, I decide I just make my own, and make my own rules, or lack thereof. Just b/c I am around for a while doesn't make me credible, understand? The amount of breeders that have been kicked out of AKC keeps growing and growing, and where do they register their dogs? Places like ACA.

Lots of us on here have dogs that are not AKC. But it is important to understand not to support these other registeries b/c it is confusing to the unaware public, who thinks papers are papers.
Belle has papers too....she pees on them

Default pocket puppies

If people want such tiny puppies that they can shove them in there hip pockets, we can call them pocket puppies and since they are small and fluffy and can fit in your pocket, we can call them cottonballs... Hey sounds like money to me. BTW don't these puppies come with four legs? Maybe that's why they are so small They can walk and it's good exercise for them, pretty soon we'll have to start checking pants pockets before we do laundry incase someone forgot the pocket puppy again
Can you imagine how small these puppies organs are? Their little hearts must have to beat so fast there is almost no way it can last for too long.
How many post have I read on here about people writing and saying "I just lost my puppy, I picked her up and she was limp, seems like most times those puppies are really small ones. Just my opinion, but I'd rather have a 5 pound puppy that has a good chance at being healthy then have to go through the trauma of having a tiny one die after a few weeks. I've lost one, can't go through that again when it can be preventable

Wow! $4000!

I worry about that girl selling with full breeding rights. She is only 1lb 13oz there is no way she will make it big enough to breed.

Yup..I agree, I have always been very leary of people who flaunt their Religion, especially on a website selling $4000 dollar dogs and in the next sentence saying Praise the Lord. Reminds me of Jim and Tammy Fae Baker.

This is funny...

Now lets ask the vet, how much is going to cost me for all the extra medical bills I'm going to have....

When Tuffy had surgery years ago, my vet told me if you ever get another yorkie, make sure it atleast 5 lb. The small that are the more expensive they will be when it comes to vet care especially with surgery.

I know this one.. Punken and Breese were to be around 5 lb but as they were growing, Punken managed to get too 5.9lb and Breese got to 3.7lb.
With Breese her weight averages between 3.3 to 3.7 I really keep a close eye on her.

Kathleen.. Punken, Breese and Lil Ol Tuffy..RIP

Little Breese eats but nothing happens.., lol

When I got Breese she had birth defects, I knew this but it was before my illness and figured I would make an effort to help her. My vet told me the problems with her hind legs was due to her position during pregnancy. The Mom carried 5 puppies but because of the size, he felt not enough room.

Now, let's talk surgery. I have a great surgeon that took care of Tuffy and I took Breese to see him. He kind of laugh.. saying.... does that look to you to be about 5 lb. I told him she was suppose to be between 5-7 but stopped at about 3.7.

He checked her out and the lower part of the legs under the knee cap area were turned. Didn't relate to LP but birth defects. He did surgery on both legs at the same time. Didn't know if it would be possible because of her weight. He did it.. This is one outstanding surgeon.. Large Animals also.. Tigers.. you name it, he does it.

She has problems every once in a while because of the cold but she hangs in their with the best of them.

Sorry about the book...lol

So is that all it takes for an organization to be deemed as "respected?" For them to "have been around for a long time?" The KKK and Al Queda have been around for a long time too...

I am not sure why you are so upset...you asked a question, said that you were afraid you had been scammed, and then got upset with some of the members here for answering your questions in an informative manner and called them rude and condescending? You've "been through a lot"? So have I. So have most of the members here at one point or another.

This is a GREAT forum with load of information. The members are great and always willing to lend a hand. The members here are all very passionate about Yorkies are the overall well being of the breed. Most here do not support indiscriminate breeding practices, which most feel includes trying to produce extremely small dogs instead of healthy, quality representations of the breed as per the standard. People here encourage others to research the breed and red flags typically associated with unethical breeders FIRST, before buying a dog. Educating yourself on Yorkies BEFORE you buy one helps you make informed decisions and avoid being lied to and taken advantage of and finding themselves in the same situation as you yourself are in now.

No one here is claiming to be a saint or trying to make you feel like you, or your dog, don't 'measure up to anyone's standards.' I have found though that if you start out looking to be offended by something, you will generally not be disappointed. I would suggest that you stick around and you will see that everyone here shares the same passion for this breed as I'm sure you do and the main concern of members is to help educate, answer questions, chat, share stories etc. If THAT is not something that you agree with, then yes, I would say that you have picked the wrong forum.

Whew wee sister...didn't mean to rattle your cage so hard. Pull your little paws back and pull the nails in.
I'm fine with my dog, she's healthy and happy even if she is small. I didn't have a choice in doing any research before I got her. She was a surprise gift from my husband and neither of us knew the difference between the ACA or the AKA! I never once called anyone condensending. And please....the KKK??? You "bama's" need to get over that...we have!
So you don't like the ACA...I could give a rat's petuty! The woman was rude and she did insinuate that my dog (small yorkie) was "not up to standard".

And you are correct in saying that the members on here, some of them, are very nice and have sent me PM's that have helped me. I didn't get scammed by getting a small dog. I got her from a reputable breeder and they have been in business for over twenty years. I was scared when I read some of the things on here about the very small dogs. Jazzi is fine and I am no longer worried after talking to a few of the nice folks on here.

Sure am glad I don't judge everyone by your behavior though! Keep your panties out of a knot and you will have a better life!!!
Yall come back now ya hear?

Hmmm...you were the one questioning it...

Really? Hmm...don't see where I said that. I just didn't agree with the criteria you were using to defend them. I have no issue with other registries or the dogs within them...just unethical breeders. Myself, I'm more interested in the dog itself and the breeder who produced it than what kind of registration was being used. I own a CKC dog AND an AKC guy that's 2.5 lbs myself, so that would be a bit hypocritical of me, don't you think?

Awww...don't give yourself so much credit...it takes far more than a handful of petty insults from a random person behind a computer to "rattle my cage" and get my "panties in a bunch."
