| I understanding having a fear of dogs, but that sounds like something off of the Maury show lol. My sisters bf came home for Thanksgiving and met the dogs (Bandit 4.5 pound terror and Nala 5.2 pounds of licking monster) and he refused to pet them and when my sister made him hold Bandit he almost dropped Bandit!! THEN...he started picking hairs off of his shirt and I was like "they don't shed, I'm really allergic and that's why I got this breed" and he was like "oh." Some people I brought Bandit to school one day and my principal was scared of him lol. I think it'd be such a boost for any environment having a dog in a shop (especially a shedless one as an allergy sufferer) |

| HAHAHA!!! I have been thinking about putting a sign up! But again, people are already put off by my "No receipt, no exchange. No refunds, no exceptions!" sign. Geez, what do they think I am? Nordstrom or something?

| Dog Phobics You never know, you have to always be on guard against these 5 pound deadly "terrors" running loose. It's okay though, if you put your child in front of you then you should be safe....or charged with CHILD CRUELTY!! Can't stand people like that, they must have a secret set of rules that applies to them only. Maybe there should be a law that they have to have those rules attached to their foreheads. We had a case in Minneapolis where a woman walked into a building with her therapy dog and some other lady came walking by and kicked the dog. It was caught on camera and it showed people looking shocked, wish I had been there, I would have kicked her back. I guess the police did get the tape and found her and charged her with cruelty, she got a $200.00 fine. Bet she still doesn't learn |

| Long time lurker, not often a poster. You were in the wrong IMHO. I don't know what kind of store you own, but I hear enough horror stories about people being attacked by 'friendly pets' to know that anthropic (sp) behaviour is never acceptable. On the news we often hear about loyal loving staffies/rotties/pitties attacking people, but we never hear about smaller dogs because they can do far less damage and are not as interesting to hear about, judge the deed not the breed etc. Something I think it is important to remember is dogs are still animals. Yes they are cute, yes they are sweet, but they are still animals. We don't know one hundred percent that they won't attack. How do you explain all these stories you hear about friendly dogs suddenly turned rabid? I'm sure your dog is a sweet little angel and would never hurt a fly, I'm not meaning to imply your dog specifically, just dogs in general should NOT be in public places without being on a leash or properly contained. It's dangerous, and it's wrong to treat dogs like human children instead of pets. Yeah, the woman did hide behind her kid but probably because in her head she knew she was safe, it was her heart that was afraid. Even if she did throw her kid in the line of fire...Well..Still doesn't mean dogs should be allowed to roam free as they like. Please don't flame me, this is my opinion. If it has come across as attacking I certainly didn't mean it.

I have a little girl that lives in my tower that is terrified of dogs. But guess what dogs she isn't scared of.. my little 5 lbs furbabies. Her father is amazed by how she acts around them. She pets them, squeezes and hugs them and they let her and give her kisses right back. Now this should put that womans fear in perspective. A little girl about the age of 2 who is more likely to have an irrational fear of dogs than this grown woman... and this littler girl is gaga over my two little ones... kinda makes you wonder who the real baby is huh??

But at the same time... there is a huge difference between a dog who approaches you in a friendly way and one that doesn't. Silly to be shocked over a dog in a store if you've been there before and know about it. | |

Judge the deed, not the breed??? Uni's deed was to say "Hi, and I want to give you a *hug* b/c it's been months since I've last seen you!" And as far as Uni turning rabid? she's UTD on her shots thank you very much. Seriously! Can't you take a rant for face value?

| You know what? I don't think that I would have called Uni back. I think I would have walked over, and held the door open for her to leave! I am an extremely nice person, but when people are that ignorant, I can't help myself.

YT Addict | Capt Noonie-- She clearly said not YOU in PARTICULAR, just in general. You got a little defensive there... Although I understand that Uni is part of your store- on a general WHOLE (as in maybe not your store) I agree with Disney. You should see the scars on my hand from a "nice" dog. I'm lucky to have a hand at all! Derby is my first dog, and he's just lucky I can manhandle him.To be honest, Derby has helped me warm up to other dogs. I was not a "dog person" for a very long time. My parents had dogs and I despised them, just because they were dogs! I still recount the story of what happened to me like it was yesterday, and I was 5 years OLD! |
