I feel really bad for what you've been going through but need to say my feeling about your search.
I've posted here on this thread a number of time giving you information but never felt you were reading any of my posts. I recommended you contact the police, radio, tv stations and city council meeting held in your area from the beginning. You didn't act on these idea's until later in the threads. I just don't understand.
Many people have shown their kindness in sending you money to help find Cookie and I have to commend them for having such gently hearts. I also have to acknowledge all the wonder people on this site for taking the time and effort for supplying site information and spending time online to help find Cookie.
I've owned Yorkies for the last 19 years and know this breed.
Yorkie's are different, they are a very special breed. My children had different breeds while gowning up but Yorkie's are a breed all to themselves.
They are in fact like a small child. They need extra care and protection because of their size and the fact they are in demand. Especially, if you have a little one under 4 lbs. Breese is very fragile and I have to take extra care with her.
What I've learned:
Hawks, Coyotes and Owls are known to carry off small animals at any time of the day or night. When Tuffy was alive, I had a hawk swoop down on her at the park. It happens and if it wasn't for me being with her, she would be gone. This was in the middle of the day. I was picking up Punken and a hawk flew over my shoulder, I turn my head and was looking at him straight on. One scary day to be sure.
They are never allowed outside alone either in the front or back yard without someone being present and close at all times.
Instead of wondering if this is your Yorkie and taking matter's into your own hands, call the police, let them talk to this women. I'm sure you have her phone number from earlier conversations with her. Give this information to the police and they will check and see if this is Cookie. I know.. I know law enforcement, let's leave it at that. Never take matters into your own hands when this could be in fact this little girls dog. Considering, Cookie was last seen in your backyard, the police can make a report of lost or stolen. Was this done?
I hope I didn't upset anyone because of this post but I have questions.

Mom to My Little Girls: Punken Pie and Breese Be Be
RIP: My Lil Ol Tuffy
Mylittle girls,
I understand that you may have questions...but right now Gen shouldn't have to answer them. Hindsight is always 20/20. I feel that you asking these questions right now may lead to her blaming herself for something and that is not necessary. She is understandably going through enough. She has many supporters here on YT and we are all concerned about Gen and Cookie's safe return.

If it were my dog, I would be doing exactly what Gen is doing. Do you really think the police are going to sit and wait for the girl to walk the dog? Do you think they can really get a search warrant to search her house? Really, what harm can be done if Gen just goes to see if its her dog?

Honestly, I've never felt the need to post a response such as this one until now. It really bothers me that you would ask or say these things when what Gen needs right now is positive thoughts and support.

Gen... I wish you the best of luck today. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that its Cookie! Please continue to keep us updated.

oh, i pray that this is cookie... i actually can't imagine anyone wanting a reward, lol. it would be so awesome to just return the dogs to their owners.

that would be wild if the little girl did pick him up, that would be a little like the one YTer's dream about kids having him.

i think it was totally relevant noticing the race in this instance.. especially if it's not the dominant race for that neighborhood... that would totally make the connection that it may be the same house, and family.

and i applaud all the wonderful yorkietalkers who give positive support and love in situations like this. we'd all want the same if it were our babies who were missing.

Gen, DO NOT TAKE THIS ADVICE!!! I know law enforcement. They won't do ANYTHING based on your suspicions.Oh yeah, they may go talk to the family but all the family will do is deny they have Cookie. Then they will know you are on to them and will get rid of Cookie by dumping him off somewhere. If this is Cookie just grab him and run! This is definitely one case where I would take the law into my own hands.

That kind of threw me off too. Mentioning it once was weird, but then mentioning it again... Maybe I missed the post where it was stated that black people were not the norm in this neighborhood as someone else stated.

In any event, I hope Cookie is found.

Hi Dennis,
I've known what goes on in the streets for about 26 years.
Our society today is not like it was 20 years ago and people are scared. You don't know what someone might have in their homes and to take unnecessary risks under any circumstance is dangerous.

With all the stories on the news from Florida, everyone is scared. Missing children and what people are capable of doing to their own families is horrible.

The only reason I posted was because depending on the department in the city, the human society works out of police department. They are scanned when any animal is pick up and returned straight to the owners.

I didn't want her to take matters into her own hands because if any harm comes from trying to remove Cookie from her and she hurt, Gen will have other legal problems to deal with.

Sorry I upset you but if you've experienced what I've seen maybe you would be looking at this situation in a different light.

I won't be on today... off to Chemo.
Hope Cookie is returned safe and it's a good outcome.

Gen, will continue to keep you and Cookie in my thoughts and prayer's today.
Finger's crossed the Yorkie in question is your baby. I wouldn't do a thing
until I knew for sure this was Cookie. Don't jebordize any chance of getting
her back. I would stay out of site in case they are on to you after getting
one of your flyer's. You want that child to walk the Yorkie so you can get
a good look at it. If they see you hanging around they won't take her out
so be descreet, very descreet. Good luck to you.

Great post! I totally agree. The conditions that we live in now make people very afraid and if you take matters into your own hands someone always ends up getting hurt. Maybe see if an officer is willing to accompany you to the house and then you can knock on the door tell them you received a tip from a neighbor and ask to see the dog. If it's their dog they'll have nothing to hide and if they refuse then that's when the officer can step in.

I honestly don't think she is just going to go up and snatch the dog not knowing if it is Cookie. If it is Cookie then I say TAKE HIM BACK!!!!! I know exactly what I would do in this sitution. If I saw someone walking MY dog. It is very obvious if it is Cookie than these people have NOT been trying to find the owner, and what I have heard about her posters and such, I don't think it would be hard to find her and give him back. They have no intention on giving him back. They just found a beautiful little doggie!!

I honestly don't know how she has the patience to wait it out. I give her credit. I would be sitting in my car a few houses away.
Please let this be Cookie and he is returned to her. This is my Christmas wish.
Can't wait to come on and see good news.

Everyone please stay positive and don't judge. Say a prayer and let it alone.

What exactly is the officer going to do??? I agree with the other poster, if they are on to you they will give the dog to a relative for a while until the heat is off.

Hey Kathleen...No problem, Your point is a valid one. I probablly know mare about Gen's case than a lot of you do and I know how desperate she is.I definitley don't think she should confront anyone alone but If she see's a child with Cookie she should definitely take him and then call the police.
