My name is Onegus, and I am NOT spoiled. My Mommy and Daddy are just very well trained. When I first came home, 2 yrs ago, I weighed 2# 2oz. I made sure daddy understood that I could not eat unless I was hand fed, one tiny piece at a time and that he had to sit on the floor with me to do it. BTW, my daddy is over 6 ft tall, lol. Mommy put an end to it after a week because she would hold my dish up, tell me to sit and give me one bite then put my dish in front of me and walk away. (Daddy still hand feeds me when she isn't looking.)
I KNOW there is no good reason to bring bags into the house unless there is something for me.
I have a big doggie brother, 87#, and a big cat brother, 20# and they do whatever I tell them to do. Even laying down nicely so I can nap on them. And they are only allowed to play with toys if I say so and have the time to play too. They also may not eat until I check out what they have. I get special expensive food but I have to make sure theirs is OK. That's my job as a brother. Brother cat now eats in the basement. He isn't a good sharer. It is also my job to tell mommy and daddy if Cat is doing something he should not be doing. He says I am a tattle tale. I also make sure my big dog brother knows I am in the lead when we are both outside. If he doesn't listen and gets sassy with me, mommy and daddy make him wait inside until I come in.
I go almost every where in the car with my mommy and daddy. Daddy lets me lay on the console, but mommy insists that I have an 18" lead with the seatbelt through it, hooked to my harness when I am alone in the car with her. Since it is in the front seat, the air bag is alway turned off when I am in the car.
I have more toys then my human brothers and sister had when they were little and they tell mommy and daddy all about that. Mommy puts them in a basket at night but daddy tips it over in the morning and I am allowed to leave them all over the house all day. Mommy puts them away after I go to bed. Same with clothes. I have jammies, sweatshirts and 5 snowsuits. But hey, I am a little guy and it's cold outside and on the floor. Not that I am there except to play. I like laps much better then the floor.
When I first came home, Daddy said I could not sleep in his bed. I think he was kidding. I take naps with daddy every day in the big bed, but mommy makes me sleep in my own bed at night. I know what time bedtime is, 9:30PM and I tell them. I pace up and down the hallway and cry until my jammies are on me and daddy cuddles me like a little baby and rubs my belly. THEN I can be put in my bed. I also have a daytime bed in the living room. Cat thought they bought the cube for him, but I let him know it was all mine so he leaves it alone now.
I love my mommy, but my daddy is my best friend. He shares his icecream and human popcicles with me and sneaks me human nibbles when mommy isn't looking. When he is outside, I wait at the top of the steps for him to come back in. If it is winter and he is plowing snow, I wait there with an extra pair of heavy socks for him, which I have sneaked out of mommy's clean folded laundry.
No, I am not spoiled, I am very special and I deserve to be treated that way. I give lots of kisses and snuggles, and even smiles sometimes so they know I love them too.;) |
