| Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I have a Yorkie that leaves a trail of water from her bowl each time she drinks and a leaky fridge. They are next to each other so I just keep a small towel on the floor and wipe up after both of them all day.

| Wow, glad I decided to browse YT this afternoon. I am always looking at dog products in catalogs and I frequent several local pet stores. However, this never occurred to me to use a water bottle. I currently use a ceramic martini dish for their water. I thought it would help the fur around their mouth since it is elevated but it doesn't really. It's just really cute. I was going to buy one of the water systems that cleans itself by filtering but I think I will look into a water bottle after reading this post. I have a litter of puppies and can not keep water for them since they knock it over within 30 minutes or less of when I put it down. I know some of you breeders know exactly what I am talking about. Thanks so much this suggestion and post!

| okay, water bottle set up. I used nutrical to tempt them. They of course licked the nutrical off the tip and then proceeded to lick the entire shaft of the tube. That's it. I kept making more water dribble out the tip, which they licked, so they know wet stuff comes out, applied more nutrical, lather, rinse, repeat. over and over, you get the picture. They just aren't getting it. I watched them going to their dry and empty water bowl and then just lying down like they were in the middle of the mojave desert and make no move to this towering bottle of refreshment next to them. Do I let them dehydrate tell them get the idea? Any further suggestions? I love this idea since they are using the water bowl for a paddling pool, so I really want the bottle to work. They are almost 5 mths old, so they are young enough, that they should still be pretty trainable on this..

| Donating YT 1000 Club Member | They may not get enough water out of it at a time to feel like they are getting a drink to swallow like they did with the bowl and may not like it, they want to slurp big gulps and it won't let them?

![]() I was worried that they would get dehydrated especially 3# little Izzy but she got right up to it after she saw her brother Cosmo do it. I love that it's black and matches my appliances in my kitchen and that it doesn't get their beards all wet. Now if I can train my cats to use it.hehehe. Oh and it's slim and tall and I like that I can move it around. Yeah it cost me but I'm impatient and it would take forever for my husband to make me one.

It took a little coaxing for my gals, but they got the hang of it. I was worried that they weren't getting enough water, at first, but they continued to go pee pee just as usual

| not so much. Did you completely take away all other sources of water so that they had no choice? I've left the water bowl, but I'm not totally stupid and know that as long as it is available they'll never learn, I just don't want them to dehydrate. Conversely, if everybody is pretty sure they will catch on, I'll remove the water bowl, try the peanut butter trick and force them.

I was very lucky that my girls caught on right away, but they were fairly young at the time and not so set in their ways

| Do you have their water bottle attached to their Kennel? I'm trying to picture this. I just use one large Bowl and change the water about 2 to 3 times a day. |
