Rachel, congrats! You've already received good advice all around...I just wanted to stress one thing, esp. w/ a young puppy -- I really would not change a single thing in food, or add any new food for at least 3-4 weeks. Changes in food too soon after changing to a new home and/or in a very young pup can have catastrophic results. Ok, that's all! Good luck!

Anyway.... I am glad you got a clean bill of health. She sure is a little munchkin. Love them when they are so little. My babies sometimes run in their sleep, and wimper some. When they are in a deep sleep. It's normal. Yes they do get their shots in the thigh so that is why her little bottom is sore. There is really nothing to her, no real meat if you know what I mean. those shots hurt. If she is still sore maybe the vet could tell you what to do, maybe a little ice pack. Aw so cute. Just love those puppy stages. It's like having children you learn as you go along. There is no manual they give you. You will be fine, don't be so nervous. You are doing great!!!

this is what I am talking about. I have seen way too many people on here giving wrong advice. For instance, there was a thread wwhere a momma dog was eating her puppies poop which is very very normal with new babies but the poster was told that her mama was or might be in need of vitamins and minerals and to get her some. That could have been disasterous for the mama if she had been overloaded. Sorry you feel offended. No offense was meant.

I have also heard people tell a person they should not follow the advice ol their vet which I feel no one should tell anyone. I agree its just a forum and you have to take what you can use and discard the rest

me too Joan. it is all about rachel and sadie. My post was made in response to her post talking about people telling her that her new puppy was going to be sick and die. I'm sure she understand that. I'm sorry people took it any other way. I am thrilled to death that she has her new baby.

don't worry you guys are all great with me, don't have any problems here at all...Sadie did just fabulous last night, she's a gem really, she had some visitors today, i was a little bit worried because my nieces and nephews came over (4) kids and they wanted to play with her, but the little doll went into her crate and i told the kids that when she goes in there no one can talk to her or bother her because that's her private home....they kinda listened and didn't stay too long so it wasn't bad, she didn't shake and she was fine after wards...i love her to death just didn't want to over load her...but i also don't want to over offend family that just wants to look at her....she's sleeping again poor baby.

Well have lots of fun with your new baby!!!!!!! Don't worry too much, Bailey wheezes and has been doing it since he was a baby. He has a soft treachea.... Good luck!

yea it's on here, but yea we went to the vet, she's perfect, no worms, no ear mites, good heartbeat and breathing, got her first shots and she's doing great...no worries at all, and now that i know doggies move a lot when sleeping i won't be so freaked out about that anymore.

Well, she's had a day, i needed to get the blankets cleaned up from all the kids being here and dragging in grass and dirt, so i got out the vaccuum. i knew she might not like the sound at first so i prepared myself for the worst let her sniff it at first and turned it on, she ran clear across the room, then after a minute she came towards mama with her tail all in that scared pose...she came halfway, then ran back, then came a little further back to me and finally came to my side and i stroked her until she was fine with it, she sat by me while i used the hose and then left for her crate while i used the bigger part and then crawled into her bed to hide a little.

she is seriously the cutest thing, and now she's napping again...do puppies always sleep all day and night??? i'm proud of her for running to mama for safety, that's a great start in her world...

she's so precious and wonderful i love her so much

Yes Rachel, they do need lots of sleep every day. You did good with the children since too much stress would not be good for her. You know that of course
