| Having had to fight "tooth and nail" to get the money back for Bandit when he died, I'd recommend Christy pursue it. No amount of money can compensate for the loss of her furbaby, but there is satisfaction in knowing that you gave that person pause to think about what they did wrong and may save some other puppy from him making the same mistake again. If it costs him a good amount of money then it will get his attention and he will think twice before injuring or killing another puppy through negligence and malpractice. My heart goes out to you and Christy and her family.

"Waiver of responsibility"? I don't think this would hold up on a blatant case of negligence. I feel so awful for that innocent pup...what an incompetent idiot that vet was. My blood is boiling...omg...I would redefine the word nightmare for that Vet if that happened to one of my pups! Francie | |

| This is horrible. I'm so sorry that you and your friend have had to go through this. Please don't blame yourself. The vet should have known better. We are conditioned to think that Vets & Drs always know what they are doing. Again I'm sorry. I hope that you guys start to feel better soon. Even though I know it will be difficult. Is she planning on trying to get another puppy? But, then again it could be too soon for her. Please tell her that we are thinking of her & you.

| I would think that waiver of responsibility was for a particular procedure on a particular dog - not any animal the family brings in. I'd sure check into that! I had to sign one for Sabrina's spaying - but that was for NORMAL things that could go wrong. So sorry about the puppy! I don't think it's YOUR fault at all. Things happen to our little guys especially as puppies when they don't have their immune system, etc, and all those shots and stuff and adjusting to life in general. I hope your friend understands that. Best of luck.

| I spoke with the Breeder Marie of the puppy. She feels so bad for Christy, of this tradegy the vet has caused. Marie offered Christy another puppy even though it was the vets fault. Christy declined of course as she knows Marie isn't wealthy and has her own problems with a sick elderly husband. And if was nothing Marie had done. I am going to give Christy a call tomorrow and speak with her about this whole mess and that the vet should be accountable for his work, regardless of a waiver or not... Does he have a "licence to kill?" I just want to give Christy a chance to morn her loss, then I will see if she is going to persue compensation. I know I would, right after I was bailed out of jail for being arrested from taking things in my own hands. Sorry, there just isn't a good excuse for this puppies death.

| What a sad, sad story. Seems like there are alot of vet stories that don't end well. Hopefully we will all learn that doctors are just "practicing" medicine. Also, that puppies shouldn't get back-to-back puppy shots. It was nice of the breeder to offer another pup.... makes you believe there really are nice people out there.
