| Why doesn't anyone ever apologize after stepping on Uni???!!! If i step on someone's dog, I'm gonna say sorry to the dog and the owner and make sure if it's ok! How come when Uni gets stepped on people either say "Oops", or gasp, or I even got once "What are you doing on the floor you should be in a bag?"! A few times they didn't even acknowledge the fact that they even stepped on her!!! And she SCREAMS!!! I KNOW THEY HEARD HER!!! Granted, Uni has never been permanently hurt by anyone, but come on! geez! How can people be so rude! Only once did I have a girl step on Uni and felt so bad, she just about apologized like twenty times, but she was the only one that ever said sorry! Also just now a lady put her down, but from about at least a foot off the ground and just kind of tossed her down. WTF! What if Uni was a tiny??? She would have broken a leg!!!! And if I say something then I look like some crazy over protective psycho!!

| B/c those people are jack a$$e$ (pardon my french) and don't have dogs to realize how precious they are to us...thats why. I never feel like I am look like a psycho and even if I do, I don't care. This man was at my rents house and he was so rough with Snickers (trying to see his teeth and slapping him around) that I said it out loud...you're being too rough and please be gentle...and it was great b/c all my family agreed. I scooped him up right away. Snick is a tiny so I was livid!! Speak up girl...someone steps on Uni, make sure they know. I would say "Excuse me, you just stepped on my dog!!" and I would say it loud and in an annoyed way! Then there are the plain dumb people...you just wanna smack em

| Some people just don't get it...there are people that are just not dog people. With Suri I was always scared of someone stepping on her so I would pick her up until it was safe. As far as picking up I rarely ever let anyone and when they did it was sitting down on the floor or I would hold her on the harness just incase.

| Some people just don't get it, thats why I either pick my dog up or put them in another room while having company over. I don't let no one pick my babies up. Long ago my SIL picked up my little dog and the dog didn't really know him and tried to jump out of his hands to get away. sence then I don't let anyone hold them. |

| poor baby Not all people love animals as we do and don't think of them as family.... But unlike you I don't have no patience and I would say something to them. And when the person said why aren't you in a bag I would have said... why aren't you on a leash...lol. Some people are more of animals than our pets are...lol

| I have had this happen several times as well, each time no one says anything and I end up infuriated! I have given people dirty looks and have said things like excuse you, and then they acknowledge that they have even did it, most of the time they just walk away I know how rude!

| I wouldn't care if I looked crazy or not ! If someone steps on Mister Toby and doesn't apologize...They "will" get an earful, and I'm pretty positive they won't like it ! |

Thor's Human Donating Member | Yes, absolutely someone should apologize if they step on a dog! However, I think the more important issue is to prevent Uni from getting stepped on in the first place. Is this happening in a specific place? If so, you should probably pick her up, (and maybe put her in a purse ). After all, the real tragedy would not be rudeness, but if Uni DID get hurt.

| i usually start screaming when i 'think' someone is going to step on milu. i don't care if people think i am crazy. better be a crazy lady then a sad lady with her yorkies leg broken. even if i own a shop, i will still scream at people. i will apologize later for screaming, but i need to make sure that my dog doesn't get stepped on. i don't believe my dog will be ok if someone stepped on her. so i am not sure what i would do if someone stepped on her for real. usually when i take her to a pet shop, i watch people like a hawk to make sure they don't step on milu. i've pushed people before to make sure they didn't step on her. (i apologize afterwards of course) i don't know why they don't apologize to you after they stepped on uni? maybe they don't like dogs? do you think that's why?

| Well Uni is the "shop dog", so she has free reign of our entire store, which is only about 700 sq ft. She loves greeting people, and most of the time people love her. When she was a baby we had a big cardboard box we used to block her way out from behind the counters. Now she would just be able to jump it. And keeping her back behind the counters wouldn't give her enough play room. Also having her stuck in her carrier all day wouldn't be very nice either.
