Unfortunately, this is NOT illegal and goes on all the time. There are pregnant females in dog auctions all over the country being sold. No, it is not good for the mother but these people just do not care.

If you gather up the money to purchase this little girl all you are doing is making another spot for her to add a new female to breed to her "great stud"!

Gathering the money to go and purchase her is no better than gathering money to go to an auction or mill and pay the millers. It just is not right and really does no good.

I will guarantee you that this entire story with this woman is a total lie just looking for people like us that will dish out $1200 to her. It makes me sick that I have to breath the same air as people like her but really there is no good solution to the problem.

I didn't even dig around that much and already I have found a huge hole in her story! There is no way that she took this little girl to a reputable vet and not only did he say that is was fine that she is going to have a litter of puppies but it is alright to sell her!

Just the other day I did an entire thread in the rescue forum about posting Kijii ads. There are no reputable people that are selling dogs on that website. I would say that it is just as bad as Hobbly.com! I can also add that not that long ago I saw a post on Craigslist telling everyone to post their dogs on Kijii because they have NO RULES!~

Now if she would be willing to give this dog to a rescue I would get into my car tomorrow for her. Everyone could then make donations to a REPUTABLE RESCUE to save her. By paying this PoS a dime all that you are doing is adding to the perpetual abuse that is going on.

Bless you and thank you so much for responding! I agree and really think we have to show a little tough love when it comes to this sort of thing. I actually wish we could get links from that site banned here at Yorkietalk. I imagine it got a lot of hits because it was linked in this thread, and more hits means that it comes up at the top of the list in Google. I was looking at the site, and they also have ads for a pregnant bulldog and pit bull. Really shameful.

this was NOT a accidental breeding, in her ad it says SHE BRED HER 3 TIMES TO HER MALE!! I have not read all the responses, I am going to go through them all right now but just wanted to make that clear. I just got home from work right now.

she may be saying shes firm on the price now because she has had more then 1 phone call, earlier she told me she was open to offers!

I am not too far from this girl, just over the border, if she worked out a decent price I would go and get her, I am just too afraid of the outcome, I have no experience with breeding yorkies, especially yorkies that are this tiny!

I would have to agree with LadyJane and say that this totally smells of a scam.

Here is a little food for thought...........just over the weekend I went to pick up a little rescue from North Judson, IN. I posted him in the rescue forum and YHR ended up taking him. When I went to the shelter, the nice man told me that "I have never had so much interest in a dog before this little guy". I know that all of the phone calls were from my post, I guarantee it! You know why~because the same thing happened a while ago when llcornell mom called about a little girl in UTAH. The nice man at the desk said the exact same thing. There are a lot of people that come to YT and they are lurkers. Then call about posts like this and we just never know what happened to the pups. Not that it is a bad thing but what I am trying to say it that by all of the postsing to this thread and the link to the ad we have now basically driven up the price for this person to believe she has something very valuable.

I am sure that she has been inundated with emails and phone calls about her so now she think that she needs to be firm in her price. If everyone just backs off and she thinks that nobody wants to pay her outrageous price then you will see how the price will drop like a rock!

You are totally right, this morning she was willing to negotiate, and this evening she is firm and it hasn't even be a day. Theres no way I would pay 1200, if she was going to let her go for a decent price, I would consider trying to help her but I've read some good points. This lady is just sick and I know we can't save all the dogs in the world but her sad little face just tugged at my heart. I bet she would just love to have a warm lap to snuggle up on and feel some real love not torture!

So first it was one, now there are three dogs by this woman.

For the future, you can break a link simply by editing the url. For example:

YorkieTalk.com - Yorkshire Terrier Community can be done just as easy like this:
yorkietalk (dot) com

This breaks any link juice to her or others post and we can still go check it out. As for people believing everything they read, I think this thread is a prefect example that this is not the case here.

People on this board began to investigate. Thanks to the OP for finding it and thanks to the many who have contacted her to find out what the back story is. Together we are proving that this is a scam.

The good thing is that if people find that link on this board, they will find this thread which will serve as a warning to them.

If nothing else, we may have driven the price up to a point where no one will want the dog. Then she either turns it over to a shelter fearing huge medical bills or gives it away to one of us that have contacted her.

Loving a pup is not just about having a warm lap to snuggle up on. There are real expenses involved...and with this one, they may be very high!

I'm just saying that I know people reading this thread are wanting to report her and they want the dog to go to the humane society or whatever. If that were to happen, there is a very good chance that she will be euthanized before anybody could get there to take her. So, in other words, pushing for this girl to go to a Yorkie rescue would be tons better than the local hs. Evidently they euthanize pregnant animals there regularly. Just because she goes to the local hs doesn't mean she is much better off. That's all.

I am not far from Michigan and I have the entire week off. If you have contact with her tell her that her price if outragous and that she needs to surrender her to a rescue. I will drive out and pick her up on Tuesday. Then everyone will know that she is safe and sound and you will know that your money is going to the welfare of this dog. I am sure that I can find a reputable breeder that would be willing to help out a rescue with a 3 lb yorkie. It is just not safe for someone without any experinece to be taking in a dog like this and trying to do with alone. I think that everyone else needs to back off of calling and emailing this person and lets just let the OPer handle the dialogue and go from there. If this person has no interest then she will have no choice except to cave.

Yorkie_mamma22~~Your heart seems to be in the right place but IMO I really do not think it would be a very good idea for you to take thing little girl into your home. You work, have no experience with this type of thing, have young children etc.
