Joey was 12 weeks when I got him, and his breeder told me is was ok to bath him once a week, I'm sure she had just bathed him because he was spanking clean and had a little bow. Some people have had success with certain human hair products, but they do have lots of products especially made for longhaired breeds. It's important not to use human shampoos though as they have a different pH, and can result in a yorkies hair looking fried over time, human hair is much more acid, so it needs a different pH to clean properly. Other products such as conditioners don't seem to matter. The main thing Joey's breeder told me regarding shampooing is to rinse thoroughly, if you ever see white flaky skin, you haven't been rinsing enough. Always test bath water with the inside of your arm, not your hand, which can take much hotter water. Puppies can't tolerate water that is too hot, and the water should feel tepid not hot, always error on the cooler side. Yes, I groom Missy right on my bathroom counter LOL! It was free because I already had the spare leash and I just toss all of my grooming products in one of the bathroom drawers. Works for us! Although I love the space that you've created. I just don't have room for it.

I agree, Joey is really cute. I'm even cheaper than you are. I sit on the floor with my legs straight out and Emily on my lap. After I've finished I have her stand and I brush and comb down the sides,front, tail and face and baby gets a treat.

Nancy that is the greatest. I could actually do that in my office, if I wanted to give up my sewing table. My sewing machine is on another table, this is just where I cut out fabric...and right now I'm not sewing much. So, you've got my brain a clickin'. I've already got the little cabinet with the drawers. Sure would be nice to have my bathroom free of doggie grooming supplies.

Joey is sooo cute !! What a great idea !!!! I will do this !!
Check Kmart for the folding table on the cheap when on sale, like every few weeks same table on sale.
The dollar store has lot of plastic container for your grooming stuff. and I buy baby wash cloths and blanklet there too !
and Bed Bath & Beyond I pick up the hand free hair blower holder, It stand on it's own you u have different heights , I use it for me too ! ha !! ha!!! And I use the 20 % coupons I sign up for and they never , ever expired.
I have learn here on YT how to do my own grooming and the nails, so that a big saving, I was spending at least 50-60 per dogs plus tips.
I don't go to hair dresser only every 3 month for a cut, I do my dried and up keep myself.
I'm ret and I save my money to spend it on my furbabies things, like nice cloths, and supplied and don't forget mommy our toys, we need toys Lol !!!! Thanks again Nancy

I took the nails slow One or Two nails at a time , and I clip very small at first, I doing so much better now, and than I file them down a little it work. Sometime it take a week to do the two dogs ,but it's free Lol !
I brought the Pedipaws , they Hate, Hate it , and than one of my daughter gave me one for xmas for the dogs , Oh no. I gave one away to my hair dresser for her dog, which is a larger dog and it works for her.
The other is still new in my closet.
