It makes me SICK that you are your dogs are suffering. I live in Florida, so I know what it's like to be hot I kinow it's even hotter in AZ!

Once the Registrar of Contractors has received your complaint, the company in question has a time period in which to resolve your complaint, if you are not satisfied of the results, they will be a hearing, you do not need a lawyer for this, and the registrar of contractors is on your side. The downside is everything that you are unhappy about must be written in the original complain, you can't add things later to your complaint, it would be considered a whole new complaint handled separately from the first. Take your time to write the complaint; they have downloadable forms on their site. If you have copies of the contract, and proof of payment, this should be added to the complaint forms. A company that does not satisfy a consumer and the board finds in their favor, loses it's license, so this is a very serious matter. Most consumers don't follow through, be clear what you expect them to do. Since company installed the AC unit, they were very aware that it was cooling a kennel, and now to use that as an excuse why the warrantee is void, won't hold up. I'm pretty sure the Registrar of Contractors, answers to the Attorney General, and the Attorney General, will tell you to report it to them.

This actually happened to me, but luckily, the manufactures date is encoded on the serial numbers on air conditioner units, it was easy to prove the unit was not the year promised in the contract, but a model that was three years older, and with a much poorer efficiency rating. That is a mess! I would fight it , and be in it to WIN. your getting screwed. Do not let them do that to you. It is under warrenty .And keep taking your claim up to the highest and highest authority figure possible, until the matter is resolved in your favor. Meanwhile keep all your dogs safe. I am certain that you will.
It has hit triple digits in California this weekend , and beyond . I can't imangine going without AC right now! My Suzi goes outside on the balcony for a min, and is running to come indoors, panting!

I was thinking the same thing. I am having anothe company look at it on Tuesday.

Thank you so much!! I have called a lawyer to see if I even have a case of some sort. I am having anothe company come out to look at it. I have written to American Standard, but they have never responded. Everybody is ok and cool enough. I just worry about the other air conditioner that has to run harder to cool the garage as well as the house. I closed the vents to the other rooms.
