aww that stinks, all the Best Buys in DFW/sherman/mckinney Texas that I have gone too do allow Sam. I have carried him under my arm, stroller, and bag, never a problem with that.

The local Lowe's stores here used to allow them, but they don't anymore. (Thank heavens!) I think they were about the only place that allowed them. Both Starbucks and Moe's here allow you to have them if you sit outside. I think that's about it though.

North Park Mall in Dallas allows pets on a leash or carried. All the stores in this mall are dog friendly.

Just curious why you said "Thank heavens!", was it beginning to be a problem? I just don't understand why some places are so dog friendly and others aren't.

The majority of the time when people brought their dogs into the Lowes here, they were large dogs and the owners were not controling them as they should. On more than one occasion, we had larger dogs that the owners allowed to just walk right up to us--stranger dogs, particularly large ones REALLY freak my daughter out and it would result in her climbing me like a tree in a panic. Not exactly my idea fo fun. of Apparently it got to be a pretty common complaint if they changed their policies.

yikes,that sounds terrible...the lowes here allows them and I know what you mean....once someone had a large cocker spaniel in a buggy that went crazy everytime some walked by,it was really annoying

around here bailee has been to the mall(jc pennys,belks,american eagle,hollister,abercrombie,etc)we stayed away from the food court though

and many others

the only place we dont go are resturants or the grocery store.we once went to andys in a pinch(i dont like to make a habit of it) and the waitress noticed my bag looked like a dog bag.She said"awwwww do you have a dog in there?" she didnt sound like she was gonna kick me out,she just wanted to see her but i said it was her bag but she wasnt with us today(i was tooo hungrey to be kicked out lol)she seemed pretty ok with it though

I was wondering if large breed dog owners were causing the problems. I know the places that seem to be very dog friendly seem to be bigger cities, and perhaps there are more smaller dogs, or better owners.

This fascinates me. Never in a million years would I have thought stores allow dogs. I'm excited now!! Can't wait to take the munchkin shopping after I get her!

The Apple store lets you bring dogs on leashes. Also, you can bring smaller dogs to Saks and Bloomie's on a leash. I've brought Chase into every store in a carrier. The only place I've been kicked out of (quite rudely, might I add) is Starbucks becuase they consider themselves a restaurant.
