THANK TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS!! I just needed to vent. People don't understand the grief you feel when you loose a pet. Non pet lovers are like oh whatever, not realizing your pets are like a baby to you.

Sweet Pea loved to swim so our large built in pool was made with a huge step where she could get out easily the problem which she did often. We tried EVERYTHING to get the stupid ducks out of our pool and our pool guy suggested criss crossing string so the ducks couldn't land - they still did. The string was high enough and Sweet Pea small enough were her head didn't touch the string. the only thing we can figure is she was behind the pool and jumped on the string and got tangled. My son said she was tangled up. OMG I CAN'T IMAGINE HER PANIC.
That is why I wanted my Yorkies supervised outside ALL TIME and locked in when they were not. We have a doggie door but on that day she was lock out instead of in.

For those of you that have a built in pool if you don't have a huge step for your dog to get out, that step someone suggested is a great investment.

Again thank you for all your words of comfort!!! Sweet Pea was truly a little angel. She was the sweetest little dog, she smiled a big smile, loved people, she was daddies lil girl and just adorable.

I know what you feel. My dog didn't drove but he was knocked down by a car.

oh my god.. im so so sorry sweetie. i cant even imagine your pain.. my eyes are filled with water and about to just burst out crying for you..
my heart goes out to you and your family... im very terrifed right now because my b/f just bought a house with a built in pool.. omg!!!

Please try as hard as you can not to focus on her last minutes. You will have to grieve, of course, but don't torture yourself.

So sorry to hear about your tragic loss. It is tough for non pet owner to understand anything that we feel or do for our little ones. please know that you have a whole community of other yorkies owners who are thinking of you and feeling your loss also.

This is such good advise. Last June my 14 yr old died after being in an accident and the only way I could ever get over it was to shut those last moments out when they tried to creep in again.

I am so sorry to hear about your Sweet Pea. My mom lost a 16yr old poodle to drowning in her backyard many years ago. She was devastated. I agree that you have to try to immediatly replace the bad thoughts with happy memories. It is hard to do, but dwelling on the bad thoughts will really drag you down. Just try to STOP your brain and redirect it when that happens. I hope you get some peace.

I'm so sorry to hear this.. i can relate to how you're feeling.. my yorkie recently was accidentally let out of the house by my 3 year old and run over by the neighbor just a couple of weeks ago.. if you need someone to talk to or anything, i'm here

OMG, I'M SO SORRY my heart is breaking for you and your family...
WE HAVE A POOL TOO and i worry about this daily.

My last yorkie (14yr) fell in with my hubby sitting in a chair across from her, he scooped her out. (we think her sight failed her then)

Our new baby,was following me walking around the pool, not looking and fell in. SCOOPED HIM OUT! THIS SCARES ME, he loves walking along the edge, i thought for sure b/c of his fall he would never get around it again..NOPE he walks the edge all the time!!! When i scold him to get away, he goes right back.
