I'm getting DNA test done too. The whole hair thing has me thinking - Sully may be an imposter after all. Not that I would give him up or anything....but if that test comes back with Chi in it...I will raise a little hell.

I think there is a cheaper test you can do yourself with a swab in the mouth type of sample you can send in. The reason I paid a little more is because I'm going to do a little more than raise hell if I'm right...

That was smart. I don't think a do it yourself test would hold much weight. I'm sure if you try to go after your breeder, you'd have to get one done by a vet anyway.

Did you ever find out how long it will take to get the results? I'm on pins & needles!

Thanks for the info - I just found the swab test kit you were talking about on line and ordered it. Much cheaper than the vet fee.

I'll have a better idea on Thursday when I take them into for their vet appointment. I hope it doesn't take as long as the Mars Vet. people said....2-3 weeks, I so doubt it will take that long!

She'll be 5 Months on April 29th! Some of her puppy pics on my profile show that dark strip of hair she used to have. But that has then grown out...with my little morning groom, its all gone...not sure what to expect color wise anymore! Someone told me she would get even lighter. haha After looking up red legged yorkies, she has the characteristics, redish hair, and long legs haha

BUT, I knew I was buyig a Shorkie because that is what I was looking for.
Jemma turned 5 months on Monday and is now 3 pounds 9 ounces. She hit a growth spurt, lol. I'm hoping she'll hit between 6-8 pounds. The teeny weeny ones just scare me to death,as fragile as they are. I'm seeing way too many people changing the Yorkie to be a teeny breed. Too small IMO! And I suspect that they could have more medical problems. So sad. People will risk breeding to make them smaller, not considering the health problems that can occur. All for the love of money....sheesh

I did a lot of research...3 whole years, and found that Morkies like many other mixes (I dont like to call them designer breeds, they are living things) Morkies are Hybrid Vigor mixes meaning the maltese genes and Yorki genes play nice and balance eachother out. The dogs are potentially healthier breaking the hereditery genetic disorders and diseases. I would change this little crazy longlegged red head for anything haha. The Yorkie breed has powerful Genes I must say...
